não é intransitiva, é transitiva indireta, por reger a preposição "a". Os verbos intransitivos não necessitam de preposição.

O verbo no ing tem várias variações de se usar, mas uma dica que eu tenho é botar o verbo e mais o ing (lembrando que isso não se aplica em todos os casos) por exemplo: I'm waiting for you (wait + ing) só que tem vários casos (não são a maioria) que não se aplica essa regra e você realmente vai ter que estudar.

1- I played my Guitar last weekend. 2- I practiced the Duolingo last weekend. 3- I watched a serie last weekend.
