I want to know what took so f@cking long to clear maybe a dozen people off a highway? The fact that there is clearly no quick response force already in place to deal with ANYTHING at an international airport is, at best, alarming. Why did it take an hour for the ISP to make an appearance? There must have been 100 cops standing around at one point. A dozen cops with tazers and a prison bus should have resolved that issue in 20 minutes. Mind boggling that time and time again, it appears that those we trust with our overall safety and security are asleep at the wheel. With all the cameras and cops shooing people off the shoulders, NOBODY saw this whole thing developing? Imagine if this had been a group of more experienced individuals who were intent on creating some serious mayhem and loss of life to get publicity for their cause. It took hours for them to deal with a handful of unarmed protesters at a place I am just going to assume is supposed to be one of the hardest of the hard targets. This should have been a golden opportunity for the public safety community in this city and state to demonstrate in no uncertain terms what happens to people who think they’re going to come and play games at a high security international public space. They had a chance to send a strong message today. Unfortunately it was the wrong message.

I agree with many that days in jail is a great idea, but that wont happen. Instead, fine them!! When you use money you will get somewhere. Trust me it has worked in the 50's the 60's the 70's and the 80's. In Arizona they had a huge problem with idiots speeding through school zones. They did have a fine of about $25, and the number of occurances decreased a little, but when they put it to $500 it almost completely stopped. So where is the common sense in Chicago? Hmmm If you fine these friendly caring people stopping others from making their flights, they will become really friendly and not show up. Makes me sick. Freedom of Speech here has been taken too far and the local governments do nothing. Disgusting.

Similar incident happened in the international airport in Hong Kong in 2019. The protesters totally took over and shut down the international airport of Hong Kong, something that I had never seen my entire life until then. I believe that the American people passed a safe harbor law in Congress to give the protesters who took over the airport in Hong Kong, the permanent residency that will lead to citizenship in the USA if they were arrested and charged criminally by the Hong Kong police for taking over the airport. Search it here in KZread and you will see the takeover in Hong Kong's airport in 2019 was much worse and more chaotic than this protest in Chicago.
