Fun fact.. it goes even further back than that.... it comes from an old monk chant called "Antiphons". That chant inspired the song we know and love today.

Forget Christmas…this should be sung and played at Easter and thru out the Year, especially if he is serenading the Congregation of the Globe! Young man… would you please Perform with the Tabernacle Choir in Salt Lake City Utah?! It would be a SELL OUT!!! Omgoodness!! They sing just as insanely perfect as this wonderful angel on Earth! and they have a full bodied orchestration to accompany! Tickets?! I have never seen vocals like this from Peter....thoroughly impressed. Especially minute 2:30-2:45 in this song - amazing. I've had this song on repeat all day.

whoa. first few notes and i was already like "dude's voice is so silky smooth and pretty" then he gets to about the 2 min 40 mark and just ...............whoa.

Ok so this litteraly made my heart burst in tears. I've never heard nothing THAT amazing. I mean, there're so much feelings in this. That was... BEAUTIFUL. That's why I like to live.

Of all the many, many songs you’ve done I believe your voice sounds the most beautiful in this song. I don’t know enough about singing to explain it but your pitch or register or whatever you call it is just perfect in this, to me anyway. I ❤ it!

Six years ago I was homeless, living in my car. I had lost everything in life. I got a job as a hotel housekeeper, and was making barely enough to survive. After work I would sit in coffee shops, since I had nowhere else to go. One day I was in a bookstore, and I picked up a book about Mother Teresa and started reading. Did a tour of the Holy Land a few years ago - was so awesome! Singing hymns as the sun rose, while sailing on an old wooden boat on the Sea of Galilee, is one of my favorite memories. You did great capturing the Middle-Eastern flair on your runs.

Love The Grotto. It's a mile from my house & I love their Masses, especially on Christmas.

Y'know, it's a little bit funny: I've long since lost the love I had for Christmas growing up, especially its music, and find the season less and less jolly with every passing year; and though I was raised Presbyterian, I developed a distaste for the preaching rhetoric and (literal) holier-than-thou qualities of most of the gospel, and stopped attending services years ago. ...And yet there's no getting around it: in this season of clumsy and garish showboating, there's something I really love about these hymnal songs, with their graceful, humble and solemn sound. I've heard it sung in the original Latin ("Veni, veni Emmanuel! / Captivum solve Israel!"), and it sounded like a classic Gregorian chant -- and in the chambers of a cathedral, there's few things more beautiful to hear.

This is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard in my life. I've never heard anything that gave me as many goosebumps as this heartful singing. One of my absolute favorite songs sung by one of my favorite singers... I felt the Spirit come through me.

Incredible! The addition of the "do's" at the end with his extra voices sounded like an organ, and that last note was so high and pure and clear that I shuddered...
