Jo auch gerade dass 1ste ma gesehen, ob es noch mehr Motorrad Sport gibt, welchen "wir" noch nicht entdeckt haben!?? Tipp: immer erst anhalten , dann absteigen!😉

Didn't even know this fantastic sport existed. Thank you KZread, will definitely be giving it another look.

I'm from uk we have this and the grass track version

I know and like regular Speedway races, but the sidecar version is wild. lol. Also didnt even knew such things existed. Thanks for the video.

@@gordonnelson336 Under FIM regulations, "rider" applies equally to the driver and the passenger on a sidecar. The driver is positioned kneeling in front of the engine with hands near the front wheel, while the passenger moves about the platform at the rear transferring their weight from left to right according to the corner and forward or back to gain traction for the front or rear.

@@gordonnelson336 Nowadays it is common to call the driver the "Pilot", while the passenger has several nicknames: the "Acrobat" used in North America which is no longer in use, and the now common term "Monkey" which originated from Australia. Occasionally the words "Co-Driver" or "Co-Pilot" are also used.

I got to admit the toughest sidecar team I ever seen was a kiwi husband and wife team race at Liverpool speedway

I miss seeing these in Australia I used to love seeing the 1000cc kqacka ducks

The sidecar is to hold those huge ass balls. I've ran stock mods an mod lites on dirt. But this is a whole other level..... lol I kinda wanna try it.

And all 47 spectators enjoyed it too!!!

46. One of those was a tall fire hydrant. They put a hat and glasses on it to inflate their spectator numbers.

Nope, the Spectators are many, they are all on top of the bank in their Trucks and Cars avoiding getting Blinded! Best view up there too!

They use 4 stroke engines that run on methanol - are you in NZ or overseas? :)

No footie ,no rugby ball in sight but down here in Fish Hoek CapeTown, I'm enjoying watching this formula speedway. Way back at Goodwood show grounds we use to run some stock cars ,and mx bike on an oval dirt track ,go Kiwi great stuff

They usually jump out and take the lead and keep it. That's why the first quarter lap determines the winner

in terms of size i think they use 1400cc. certinally no smaller then 1000cc

No breaks on them and lots of power to get down on the ground on a wet track it would not be good

The bikes consist of three wheels (2 in-line like a motorcycle and 1 out to the side for the sidecar) only the rear wheel is powered, much like a normal motorcycle.

The sport originated in Australia (a RHD country) in 1928. The first Australian Speedway Sidecars Championships were held in Melbourne in 1931.

Why not counterclockwise!? Normaly at Sidecars the "monkey" aka the gras chopper,- or curbtser. - Is lying (lyes) in the left`s corners,(aka helmet replacement). Aye & Nun, a spedway course (curse) the grevel may hurt way to much, therefore the track movement is clockwise. - To solve this problem they may have to move the sidecar to the right. But then they have to let the track to go counterclockwise. See Pythagorean theorem. - Kidding.

I think he's insinuating that whoever gets off the start line the best wins, as there doesn't seem to be any other passing after the first turn, but he can correct me if I'm wrong
