New Zealanders know how to design modern homes so much better than most folks on Earth. I'm always blown away at how Americans toss up cookie cutter homes (especially in California) vs. how other states and countries take pride in what they build and take the time to set themselves apart from their neighbors and surrounding homes. Thanks for sharing Josh!

This house in New Zealand has their walls made of thin plates on isolation, it is not rigid or tough at all. In Europe, builders know how to build solid homes with both inner and outer walls made of bricks, with isolation in between.

Nice work mate!
I'm always amazed, that those cardboard box houses with those thiny wood sticks got not blown away by the wind ^^ ;)

Doesn’t take much to amaze you guess what people still live in mud huts to this day would hate for them to experience idk rain or something or maybe not all countries are the same and don’t need the same construction as yours

Lol, they survive storms here in the states. They do better with earthquakes around the west coast. Also easier to renovate for a home owner

im more amazed how the half of the house has no concrete under it, only wooden sticks. Wonder how much they gonna sink under couple of years and moving the entire house or if they dont sink, how well those woods fight against the weather conditions.
Very nice work Josh your the best

Hey Josh dd you not have to have your decking perpendicular to some of the exterior doors for slip resistant. I like how you did it .
Nice work, beautiful. Can you share the floor plan if possible?
Beautiful finished product buddy, how do you find the black cupboards for marking? Ours were flat finish and couldn’t keep the finger prints off them….
Do you paint the houses in winter in the rain? How long does the foundation dry for? Here in South Africa you can buy a Woodhouse, it is known as a "Wendy House." I live in a brick house that was built about 60 years ago. Everything is over-engineered. I can build a 1st floor without reinforcement due to the strength of the walls. Then again, I must say I vacationed in an A-Frame Woodhouse, and I was pleasantly surprised in the warmth and the feeling of space with the wood around you and not cement and bricks.
I'm going to guess that termites are not much of an issue there. Seeing the wood posts directly into the ground is something that would not fly here, although in the far North, once into permafrost, foundations have to be wood.
mean video bro!

Was the clips+channel for drywall for soundproofing? Did the skylight drywall couple the ceiling to the structure?
Lovely house. Could you share any floor plan?
Rough budget please: 1. Land 2. Build cost 3. All Materials 4. Furniture 5. Landscaping
Great work Josh. What do you find the most stressful part of the building process?

As an American I find it fascinating to watch how other countries build things.
What tile did you use in the bathrooms
It's a pity that the land is the size of a postage stamp, but the house is really beautiful.
Is that carpet in the garage!
Money talk, how much is the price difference, between this tip of construction, and beton construction walls??
Nice house man it’s cool as 👍👍👍👍🦘🇦🇺🥝

Красиво, очень крутой прект, но каркасный... У нас бы мыши пожрали 😁
I assume the customer did not add the landscaping to the price.
Great video!! What is the cost of this kind of houses in NZ ?
@Tony_7791

Probably 750-850k NZD Ex land
How much are these same build of house?
How much slide windows weihgt ?
Where’s the vapour barrier?
No danger of those foam blocks compressing under the concrete slab over time??

Not a chance, surface area is too great and the concrete fully encloses them so no deterioration either.

Plenty of steel reinforcing to hold it all together as well :)
how would we get the full build plans for this in the united states. i wanna do this build here.
How much was rhis?
Hey mate question from Oz, how much would it cost to build this house?
@Tony_7791

Probably $5,000 per m2 So, around 750-800k NZD
Cost?
Im so sad that working a job of 40-60k a year ill never be able to afford the million dollars it takes to build even a small house here
Hi Josh, love the house plan. Is it available and where can we find it? Thanks in advance. Elize

Hey thats rough, speak to a local builder or your designer who submitted plans, cheers
I don't know why but for me as an European this kind of house looks like kids tree house. I am aware it's stable and good isolated but house without bricks, nah, not for me, thanks.
looks nice on the surface but the build quality and the noice reduction is crap in those houses they are not worth the money
What exactly is the wisdom in a house design where, upon entering, one immediately encounters the kitchen and a granite countertop protruding there like a bone? Such a flawed plan. Who would find it logical to have a house where one enters directly into the kitchen before everything else?
The quality of houses and buildings in NZ is as bad like in Australia.

It's all down to land prices and climate. Those houses are good for the place they're in. I'm from the UK and the very idea of houses completely lacking bricks is wild to me, but I imagine these builds are much cheaper than equivalent scale in the UK

Quality is fantastic/world class, your fault if you didn’t do due diligence… Australia actually sets the world standard for wind tolerance & NZ sets world standard for earth quake tolerance…. Don’t make up story’s…

Hi Josh, what is the colour of linear board
how much?
