Trei thinking that’s a faded take is insane lmao. If the argument is the biggest carry, or best player on the hardest role, or most valuable to the team, we go Hydra. This is the most objective definition of MVP. If the argument is best player on the best team, or results without context and ignoring circumstances, then Simp is your guy. This is the definition the CDL usually goes for. It’s to be noted it’s way easier for simp to get high stats, end higher in events and to stay consistent. H

It’s always leaned more on best player on best team unless the hard carry is just so insane it can’t be looked over which is hydra last year. Hydra this year is same as scump bo2 and ghosts, might’ve been the best player but the team hasn’t been good enough throughout the whole year for him to win mvp over simp or scrap

Hydra is clearly the most “valuable” player. At the end of the day, each team WON 1 event. Idgaf how many seconds or thirds you got.. we remember the winners not the runner ups. Paco won as much as anyone in the league with having the heaviest backpack to carry

Hydra deserved MVP simply because he has not had a bad game this whole major 4 split. Every respawn for him was 30+ kills. Simp deserves MVP because his performance have been spectacular the whole year. Faze didn't win so simp doesn't get that award.

Because Gwinn leads the rookie class in damn near every stat including slayer rating which is a pretty good indicator of map to map impact. I’m sorry but across the board Gwinn was better than the rest of the rookies. His AR duo was dropping 0.6’s online and that’s not his fault. I watched this kid 1v4 NYSL for Christ sake

They can spread qualifiers on a Lan setup between different cities. One in toronto, then one in LA, one in Texas. And have it piggyback with whatever city the upcoming major is in. Teams could be there for a month straight, then go somewhere else for a month straight. Something

“MVP isn’t the best player on the best team” -Ace, isn’t wrong but it’s not completely true. He is looking at it as the “most valuable to their team”, when the award is the most valuable player in the league. This means, regardless of what team they’re on or who they play with, they will be the most valuable on any squad, not compared to the players they’re with. You could replace any sub player with simp (hydra included) and get the same or better result. Just because his teammates are also good and the team might still yield results without him, doesn’t mean he’s not the most valuable player in the league.

I think there's definitely 2 schools of thought to MVP, and Europeans (soccer) and Americans have different ways of looking at it. Jayson Tatum wouldn't win MVP, but if the definition is "Best Player on Best Team," he might have won it this year over Jokic. Appreciate the thoughtful comment.

The way I look at MVP in every sport is if at the end of the year every team was forced to blow it up and have a draft, who’s going No 1 Overall. I think it’s ridiculous to argue Simp isn’t the best in the game. Until we get voters fatigue him and Abe have MVP on lock unless someone has an insane year like Paco did last year.

I think that’s what people are referring to when say Cell’s comms can improve. There’s a difference between “comming just what you see” (red, yellow, one shot) and “comming to direct the flow of the game and the team.” (small talk, etc)

Because the same can't be said for faze, nysl, Toronto, to say its "worked" would be to not change up the roster even faze do that every year, nysl did that after winning 2 majors and champs, optic and faze should always be seek8ng to finish minimum top 3 with at least one major and another grand finals, but not finish top 12 at an event, my point isn't that they have to win it all to be considered "working" but to not finish in shocking positions after every win, optic haven't gotten a squad to work well for a season since they won champs, it dosnt correlate with scumps prime drop off it correlates with the dynasty split, the mentality between both karma and crim is what made the dynasty work so well, optic are missing that and have been ever since, but I also believe in part those guys did less content and focused more on the game play than the current guys do and the previous guys, optic need to balance the content with competition better, hecz speaking to fans as if everything's gonna be alright after losing to Boston scump blaming snd directly after bottling 100 po8nt lead in hardpoint, there's things going on in the culture of optic that have been toxic to there chances of dominance or even being the top team for years and years the dynasty managed to escape that, the culture at optic is to entertain not win

Karma left and proceeds to win nothing, crim and scump split and won the same number of LAN events and scump didn’t even have to team jump to play with the best players every year😂 crim then also gets dropped from a team that goes on to win 3 events including champs but sure he’s the sole reason optic won before him, with him and after him👍 Optic getting over gassed by fans and regressing after a major win isn’t the point you originally made but yes that’s obviously an issue but same way this faze team with 3x top 10 players at minimum every year can’t win finals optic can’t repeat🤷‍♂️ Optic are victims of their own success with the dynasty, no other fanbase blindly expects multiple event wins every year except faze and coincidence both ‘underachieve’ by your standards of dynasty or bust

I said this a while ago under one of Rab's videos but we should scrap the 4 sets of 5 weeks of online matches (20 weeks) and 4 weeks of LAN. Instead of 24 weeks where 20 are seen as less important, we have 12 weeks of LANs (a different team could host each week) spread out to be every other week. These LANs are for both prize money and seeding points for champs. Finally, the top 8 teams get to go to champs and it plays as it does now. I feel this will be better for players, the viewing experience will be more enjoyable, and will remove all the issues that come with the online matches.

Optic and faze both have 2 event wins in 3 years🤣 optic blow it up because that ain’t good enough whereas faze are happy being silver surfers😂😂

As far as the MVP argument goes. To me it’s Most Valuable Player period. Not Most Valuable Player to your team. So if I was a commissioner of one of the CDL teams, and I could drop any of my players for one player…it would be Simp in a heartbeat. Might not be the Most Valuable Player to his team, but is the Most Valuable Player period.
