By far, one of the greatest speeches ever given on marriage equality. Too bad it fell on deaf ears.

10 years later and still incredibly powerful, thank goodness it has finally passed in New York.

This speech brought tears to my eyes! Her body language in the beginning, with her rubbing her ear and the tapping of the pen made me nervous at first. But the eloquence in the words help her get her confidence. That was a fair and honest speech!!!!

Thank you Senator Savino! I wish there were more Assembly members and Senators like YOU! So many of them are afraid to speak up and speak the TRUTH, but you did... so effortlessly in fact that it made me want to cry. Thank you again for your efforts. They will not be forgotten.

Hey everybody, i'm so glad to see the positive responses this video has received, i'm a gay man and i live in South Africa, one of the few countries where gay marriage is completely legal, i realize how hard this issue must be on many americans and I admire this woman for fighting the good fight, remember always that sixty years ago in your country, as in mine, somebody would have laughed if you said one day a black man will be president.
