(long comment) Watching SLS over the years has def made me rethink how "hard" I rate some tricks. For example, I used to think 270 railslide tricks were insane but it's clear that with no flipping, and the large margin of error of landing middle of your board, those aren't as hard for pros as they seemed 8+ years ago, and the scores for them have slowly dropped to the point where a 270 lip (fs or bs) is "safe" or not even worth doing as a single trick, and are routine in lines. I also think Nyjah is a master of doing tricks that are low-risk for him, but get high scores, maybe too high sometimes. I can sort of see how a cab flip lip might fall into that category: just gotta huck the flip part and commit to the rail. Even so, I think he got robbed. And the tre noseblunt was scored too high - I think that's another trick where the judges haven't caught up to how good these guys are at tre flipping into stuff. Tre flip lip for example is almost easy now. yah a tre noseblunt is insane but on a rail I don't think it's a 9.4 compared to a 8.9 for a cab flip lip, in which you are popping fakie, rotating, flipping, and blindside. I would maybe even put Reyes tre noseblunt on the small ledge equal or above the same trick on the big rail. Maybe even swap the scores - 8.9 for the tre noseblunt, 9.4 for cab flip lip. Anyways, for once I think Nyjah was robbed.

I remember treflip noseblunt scoring 8.9 in sls when both ivan monteiro and gustavo ribeiro landed them consistently. You cant't just compare historic scorings without context. When nobody did a kicklflip noseblunt in a given event but then someone finally lands a treflip noseblunt it should be scored higher than in the ivan/gustavo example. But doing the same tricks for years should result in getting lower scores eventually even when nobody else is doing them. That's why nyjah recently started to add new tricks like switch heelflip variations. It took the judges half a decade to finally adjust the scores of his signature bangers like cabflip lip. Same is going to be true for the yuto specials. I still think the treflip noseblunt should have been a 9.0 - 9.2 but i am still fine with the result.

@@ole86 David Reyes did a tre noseblunt on the hubba earlier that day and got only an 8.5 for it. Yes the rail is bigger but doing it on a ledge is harder. Also maybe I'm weird but I think tre noseblunt is actually easier than kickflip fs noseblunt. the board wants to go there, you just gotta be real precise with the nose. I totally agree about Nyjah's signature bangers, I just think that a tre noseblunt is *also* a trick like that, where the shock value from a while ago has worn off, so it's wonky that it was so much higher than the cab flip lip. but I'm not sure I think that if only one guy can do a trick that the score should go down. Conflicted about the Yuto tricks - those are fucking insane, nobody else can nollie 270 lip, tail, or nose like him. he does them a lot, but man those seem hard as fuck, especially to tail/nose. If nobody else can do them, should the score really drop? i'm not sure what i think there

There was a time where a treflip noseblunt was landed too frequently to justify a nine club. Same is true for biggerflip front boards but those were single events so far but you are right: those are tricks that should have their score lowered. Nosegrind/crook flip out is another one of those. However Nyjah got the same score for the same trick for nearly a decade.

@@ole86 yah I do pretty much agree - I think especially with his lines and then certain other tricks there is a long history of Nyjah doing pretty similar shit and getting scored crazy high for it.
