NYC Walk : Astoria, Queens via 30th Ave, Steinway Street, & Ditmars Blvd in June 2024

I take a walk in Astoria, Queens starting from the 30th Avenue Subway Station, making my way to Steinway Street, and then to Ditmars Boulevard. My home neighborhood has seen a lot of changes in 5 months. Several businesses have closed down and many have expanded into new spaces. As I expected, the fastest changing streets of Astoria now have new businesses, buildings have been torn down, and activity has picked up.

My old stomping ground 31st and ditmars Blvd, pizza palace was good but expensive the entire block looks like it’s going to be leveled for a new apartment building, like what is going on in the Bronx. Take a walk on Morris park Avenue, I remember your walk from 2 years ago and it’s quite different now. It’s called little Yemen.

Hopefully the stores that are leaving the city will be quickly replaced! NYC should be thriving, not dying out... 😢😅
