Wow, it really shows how quickly you need to react to your surroundings in street photography. You just need to snap and go. I always end up overthinking and then missing the shot. Thanks for showing NYC through your eyes and for breaking down your exposure process. I always struggle with focus and exposure during street photography because of how quickly the city moves.

Def shoot and go. Have you tried setting focus before and just 'waiting' for the subject to move into it. Though I've missed plenty of shots or the timing was way off. Even worse when the moment is caught on video. :(

@@DmitryKoupriyanov Yes, I have tried that! A lot of time spent loitering outside shops and on street corners lol. I still miss some shots that way too, but I think it's good practice before moving on to capture strangers mid-stride

@@theundefinedphotographer yonge-dundas is a good corner to loiter on. (saw you have a few vids from Toronto) One of my go to 'street' spots and just minutes away from Ryerson Gallery. People watching is great. Think many miss such small moment rushing around living life.

@@DmitryKoupriyanov You're from Toronto too! Yes, Yonge-Dundas is a treasure trove. There's also a lot of activity on Queen St since it leads to Trinity Bellwoods, but again I think for now I work best while I'm stationary and watching people lol. Kensingston is also great too. People watching is definitely humbling. I think Joe mentioned in someone else's video that the moments on the street only happen once and are never repeated again, and I like the idea that each person sees something unique that no one else has seen.
This shot of the woman's high hills and her reflexion is dynamite Joe !
that pigeon shot was straight heat
i always wonder how people react when they see they're being photographed by a random stranger on the street

Totally depends on where you're shooting. I'm from Germany, and I can tell you that this sort of photography is just not possible here. People are paranoid about anyone with a camera. Even in big cities like Berlin it's hard.

Lots of okay/good photographers on youtube. But you watch this guy and the scenes he composes, and you just say to yourself out loud, "F***, he's good!" Joe really is that photographer thing. He stands apart from so many other channels. He's not a clickbait guy, he doesn't review products/cameras, he just shoots and shoots and shoots...and it shows. I'm terribly excited about this new series.
Some great shots in there dude. 8:25 is crazy with the double M in his hairline + logo

Got a good feeling about this series! 4:45 is so beautiful.
Literally the reason I started to get into film and street photography was because of you. Your talent for picking moments to capture will always impress
Love how you show the developed shots literally right as you shoot it. Awesome work Joe, can’t wait for episode/volume II
I love your approach to street photography... you’re just so slick and half these people don’t know they just got their pictures taken.
So thrilled when I saw this pop up, a great start to a series I'm really looking forward to !
Man you're so good, it's amazing to see your process and how you don't overthink every image. Really inspiring!
Dude, love this The moments when you take the photo and the moving image from the video is replaced by the still picture is just bewitching. xoxo
The cuts were seamless from the gopro to the actual picture, and these candids are crazy!!! Looking forward to more vids from this series :-)
This is what everyone has been waiting for
Just... WOW with the new series
4:45 👌👌 amazing video! Can't wait for the photobook 🤞🤪💚
What i will love most about this series is trying to guess what are you gonna shoot, who interesting people you see before you show the picture, i am impressed most of the time because the things i think and the things you actually capture are completely different, great job Joe!
I already love this series
I’m glad to see this kind of series from you.

Great video and shots, as always. I got one of those chest mounts as a gift over the holidays, as well. It's made things a whole lot easier.
Thanks for being vulnerable and sharing such an intimate aspect of your process- Living Legend- so satisfying to watch you load up that m6, and your Cartier-Bresson wrist wrap was dope

The shot on 5:49 is amazing. So much meaning where the man is dreaming of flying away, with that add behind him.
I'm so hyped for this series. Loved this episode
All you see on KZread is boring gear bros talking about the latest cameras and lenses, it's so refreshing watching a video that is raw shooting on the street no bs. Thank you xo

👀👀👀Outstanding new series. Looking forward to further captures n' vids. sidenote: *Never have I seen NYC look . . . SO CLEAN*
After the world being in lockdown for almost 3 weeks, it felt good to see all these people walking around and living their lives. That was like drinking 3 cups of good coffee. With that said, I first came across the Leica promo video with you. Got me curious about you since I’ve never heard about you. Lots of solid photographers out there in the world, it’s great to see how social media has helped bring a lot of unknown, and even new, photographers to the point where they are getting great exposure. In the 90s when I was getting my start in the biz, the only photographers who got that exposure were the ones being featured in photo/trade magazines and the ones getting their work in magazines, and even then, you never got that in depth inside look and get to know them. KZread and Instagram have been amazing for anyone willing to share their work and provide worthy content.
Fuji colors looking good, great video and excited for more content like this
Yeah I can’t wait for more this is better than Netflix
That was lit dude! You were riding the decisive moment roller coaster. That’s what it felt like watching you work.
Awesome shots man! I'm going to be loving this series, keep it up!
This is so unique. Really really love this man. Please keep this up.
