Other Music was one of the places I hung out at a lot in the 90s, for the first few years they opened. I moved to the West Coast in 2000, and did not get to see them close. It was a cool shop.
Anytime i hear about these kinds of establishments with strong history closing i feel like a piece of america dies with them. I will never get to experience many of these. Books stores, music store fronts, restaurants and so many other historically rich places that give each city and town that connected community feel. If you haven't yet i think it time you visited these important locations near you before they disappear.

You know I miss Tower Records, Virgin Records, Kemp Mill Records, Sam Goody, all of these stores had everything and I had alot of music and I still do and now I go to i offer dot com for music now! All of these places are gone and they have vanished and you know why techology playing a huge part of what music stores are gone and does anyone remember Studio 54? That was the club in NYC back in the day and you can look it up Studio 54 was the most amazing night club where you could be yourself and nobody cared! NYC had so much back then in the 80s and 70s and 60s and the 90s now 2017 its all gone and vanished. I miss the good old days! I am so glad I have my CD collection of all my movie soundtracks and music from Madonna, Guns N Roses, you name it!
I practically grew up in record stores. l loved them and everything they stood for but times change, that's life.
They need to start having some of the Artist stand up.
I never heard of this record store before. Sadly it closed at a time when vinyl sells are at their highest since 1988.....
I loved Other Music Record Store, Sad News
This is a terrible loss. I would gladly rent them my commercial space in prime Brooklyn way below market if they wanted to keep vinyl going.
Crushes me seeing, and hearing this.
Teach the importance of this
so sad, my dad used to go their and 2 members of my favorite band used to work their too :(
4:37 peep that Izlamaphobia vinyl! Sad to see music spaces close down.
Other Music Forever.
NO! They sold our Yaaba Funk LP and gave us a great review. Shame.
