    Check the irony - Ras Michael who has been chanting Nyahbinghi from as far back as I can remember only gets 4 comments and far less views versus this video, with most of the comments filled with loads of hooping, hollering and big ups! I am amazed at how black people respond whenever an unlikely source does something out of the ordinary. Black people, why do we never know ourselves until our back is against the wall? Always showing love to others and never to ourselves first.

    @ROCKABESSA From a different perspective ... It's religious observance music to most audience. Why WOULDN'T it 'spread' as far as Swiss men ? I had a famous Rasta pal, now journeyed on elsewhere, we played this sort of stuff together in spare time and I'm not black, I'm a European mongrel. I can't understand why you can't understand their hollering, it's uplifting stuff, even to people who can't understand any patois or who Nyabinghi is.

    Note: the style of drumming originates from Africa and was and is used in Nyabinghi Chants amongst Jamacian Rasta's

  • @goldbluetears

    @goldbluetears

    2 жыл бұрын

    No the style of drumming originated in Jamaica. It came out of traditional african kumina drumming, a spiritual technique to invoke ancestral spirits that uses faster african polyrythm colored flags and specific candles to attract spirits. The Nyabhingy drumming was introduced by Rastafaians who rejected these techniques and focused only on the divinity of His Imperial Majesty. Thats why they sing "Rastafari is our Light and we need no Candlelight"

    all these negative comments tells me that those responsible are as far from the most high as the think they are.. our father who art in the heavens watches over us and the fact the binghi drum is beating and the choir is chanting the exact words.. and for saying they took our thing.. ignorant as your elders.. we are all one under GOD's commandments.. Be real and stop with your evil ways. when last did any of you hypocrites go to church.. Blessings and peace.. we must unite, for things to be put right.. rant over.. this vid has opened my eyes..

I doubt it cause if you were truly a brother, you wouldnt think the people who first started the order is cursed. they were black Africans by the way.

None of them are Rasta , and probably know nothing about nyabingh for i real. The leader heard Rastas in nyabinghi session and got very inspired, and took it to his people and did what you see right here right now. Verymuch like what they've been doing all along right, they are not original people, they are not original, they don't do original things

    @Mi Africans on the continent and in the Diaspora are owed reparations. Our forefathers were not enslavers or colonizers. The wealth of many African countries still sitting in the banks of Switzerland and other countries in Europe. They are still reaping the profits from Africa's rich natural resources. If you are enjoying the generational wealth handed down from the sins of your ancestors then you are partly responsible for reparations. Rasta music - Reggae music is about love and unity but it is also about these issues. Some of our songs are protest music.

    The metaphysical is just that, why this is happening is beyond our imaginations but we as Africans , and more so we who have been plucked from the bowels of our existence should be grateful as the offsprings of the oppressors are transported by that metaphysical existence. The drum was and will continue to light that fire lit millenia ago by the origin of life's Vibrations. Ashe!
