I'm so glad they made this a reality. Ever since I saw the early sketches with NWA at the top, I wanted to see how it would turn out if they decided to shell out the money to Crumine. It just looks so gorgeous and is a nice what if piece

Wish the NWA would use this design especially if they ever get back on main stream television!

Norman Grimm i think wwe would sue them because they technically do own the rights to the big gold belt.

naitch 17 I would think Crumrine would have a copyright on their design. I do know for a fact that they have a copyright on the rope border.

$2500 is a high penny sir,but I gotta say this is very, very, very nice the main plate and all and snaps are wonderful but I notice it seems the leather being one of the very best features. and I see the "NWA" atop, which I don't mind the decision to do that, with the real big gold belt having fallen into Vince and WWF hands now, that & the fact that Crockett designed & had this belt made & really pulled it from touring territories & bring truly an NEA belt & champion,& we don't want to revisit that,we want to see the NWA back in prominence and perhaps then the NEA might return to this or something similar, right now rebuilding, its important to keep the 10 lbs of gold with all the history, recognition, and notoriety that go with it. I subscribed to your channel. thank you & I'd be grateful if you make the time to feature more of your belts & I'll be sure to consult you before I purchase any & from whom I buy them etc, & get growing on what I wanna do in wrestling. this belt is nicer & carries a heftier price tag than a lot of belts in use by working promotions today even I'm sure. I'm interested to know what more common prices are for belts like these that one might expect to find shopping around.

I was thinking the same thing Norman cause I'm a big fan of NWA wrestling since day one.especially when they was in my hometown of Nashville TN.if that was in NWA I surely would compete for it.

Flair did not keep the big gold belt. He kept his NWA "ten pounds of gold" belt. kzread.info/dash/bejne/mX2Y082FZ9rSh8o.html

I think he's got a one of the 2 original big gold belts the real real expensive one is what he has at home the second one is what he wore to the ring

@@robbiewallace9534 There was only one original. It was commissioned by Crockett but when he saw the price he decided against it so Nelson Royal decided not to have the NWA letters put on it and purchased it for himself. Royal was the man who facilitated the deal in the first place on behalf of Crockett. Royal was into western belt buckles and had a business on the side, so rather than go to a belt maker he went to Charles Crumrine who was a silversmith who made custom belt buckles. This is why so much about the belt was unique. The letters were hand designed by him and aren't any existing font. So only one original belt. Which is why when Flair jumped ship with the belt, WCW had to make a new championship belt, which is the one made famous by Vader and Ron Simmons. The belt was returned to WCW after litigation. In 99 or 2000 WCW did make casts of the belt and then had 4 or 5 copies made (I think by Dave Millican), but those belts aren't original. It was sometime in the late 90's as well that WCW had the belt replated which is why it went from the original shiny two toned look to a more dull orange look. I think Nash, Hogan, DDP, Sting and maybe Jeff Jarrett received copies. Hogan lost what he claimed was the original in his infamous match with Jarrett, but all the insiders say Hogan is wrong and he didn't have the original...but he wouldn't actually have given his copy away when he did the job. Some people say Scott Steiner had the original and possibly sold it to a collector, but no collector has ever come forward, but it may be possible they are aware the belt wasn't Steiner's to sell.
