Someone just abruptly changes. The warmness in their voice is replaced with a coldness that bites and gnaws away at you. They no longer look at you as they did before. You can barely hold onto sleep for more than a handful of hours. You toss and turn in bed, wondering what could have gone wrong, what you could have done wrong. And the memories of the laughter, the love, the warmth...memories of places you'd been together, beautiful memories of how not so long ago, at some point in the night, while making dinner, the gas ran out, and in such seamless and loving cooperation, the two of you lit up a jiko and in no time, dinner was back on. Those memories make it all the more difficult. You do not want to lose this person. Your love for them wouldn't let you. So you resolve to fight for the relationship, and fight you do. You pour every ounce of yourself into trying to get things back to where they once were. You try to get them to talk. But every time you do, they either don't want to talk about it, or claim that nothing is up. Soon after the tune changes to "...I am going through something. It is not you. Maybe I need some space...". So you give them 'space'. You hope that they will 'come back', even though deep down you know you have lost them. That they've slipped through your fingers. You have lost the battle. And you cannot stop blaming yourself."...I should have done this..." or "...maybe I should have said it that way...". This is probably one of the worst experiences one can ever go through.😞😔
