@@breakingyourlegs LMAO 🤣 like when the mobile 3050 and 3050ti came with only 4GB, thought that made no sense, then they finally dropped a 6GB variant but then they hit you with the 96bit bus, as if the 128bit wasn't low enough, heck even in the desktop space the old RTX 2060 OG launch version with it's 192bit was beating the desktop 3050 8GB with it's shit 128bit as long as VRAM wasn't an issue.

well, a 128bit gpu released in past year or two is probably faster than most 256+ bit gpu released five or more years ago. I remember a time when gpus were 512bit busses and anything lower than 384bit was unacceptable. It was also unacceptable to have a phone weighing more than 100 grams and it's size being like an iPhone was a huge issue because most expensive, best selling phones, were the size of cigarette pack or smaller. You see, things change.

Well, on the other hand they can't just stop making 8GB GPUs because gamers aren't the only people purchasing their GPUs, there are GPUs with more than 8GB and even some gamers don't need more than 8GB if it means cutting costs, so i think the main issue there with Nvidia is pricing, they need to give us more reasonable prices.

Tbh who is using more than 8GB, cz if u only have 8GB you probably have a GPU designed only for 1080p, and 8GB for 1080p is still enough to handle every games. Not really future proof ofc, but RTX 4000 series adjusted that, 4060Ti & 4070 are 12GB which is enough for both 1080p and 1440p. Starting at 4070Ti and 4080 you have 16GB, which is perfect and more than enough for 4K gaming. Having 16GB on a mid range GPUs is completely useless, you will not gain any performance by having more VRAM. Some tests has been made with modded RTX 3070 16GB (instead of the default 8GB) and 90% of the times there was no performance improvements !

@@K3rhos It's not about how much VRAM games use for 1080P and 1440P right now. It's about how much VRAM games will use on them resolutions in the future like say a year or 2 years from now. When most people buy a graphics card they expect to keep it for around 4 years and for some people even longer than that. For that reason there should be no such thing as any modern GPUs with 8GB it should be a minimum of 12GB on all cards and 16GB on the mid range cards and up.

Nvidia just seems to work better with a lot of things, for multiple reasons. Many people prefer getting Nvidia cards simply because of that

The only gpu with 8gb from 40 series can barely run alan wake 2 on low 1080p, I'm more bothered with how much they gatekeep 16gb vram, before 4070 tIE sUPer it was locked behind $1k+, when realistically i would want that on a 500$ card

Most of the titles getting attention seem to have really bad CPU issues anyways. Then you see all the videos of not even the 4090 can run this game but the 4090 is basically idling. Kind of seems like having a sports car with square wheels and wondering why it isn't going anywhere.

The 8gb isn't even the biggest problem with the vram The biggest problem is that 8gb is entry, so it's ok on a 3050 or a 7600 as entry, but i don't remember entry costing even close to 300$... And i don't remember cards several tiers above just straight up having the exact same amount of vram, not too mention some of the worst generational improvements in decades, especially at times when vram is super cheap to produce...

@@DragonOfTheMortalKombat It's fine for every titles at 1080p, at 1440p generally you want to buy a more priced GPU (so they have 16GB), stop with the "VRAM argument". It will not giving you more performance, most of the times the GPU doesn't have enough "horse power" so having more VRAM is useless, ppls that defends the VRAM argument are the same ppls that take and old 15 years old laptop and throw 32GB of RAM upgrade and pretend their laptop is running better ! Just no, if your CPU doesn't follow, having 32, 64, or 128GB of RAM doesn't help at all, it's the same for VRAM ! The exception goes to the RTX 3000 series, which I agree, was a bit short in terms of VRAM amount, 10GB only for the 3080 was ridiculous (especially when the 1080Ti had 11GB back in the days), but since RTX 4000, VRAM are well adjusted, low range get 8GB, mid range get 12GB, and high end has 16GB or more.

we could argue that 8gb is not the real problem but the price asked for those 8gb cause if teh card was below 199, the 4060 and 7600 would be great cards at 199dls... but sadly not the case.

Hey, they still have hands-down the best Ray Tracing performance in the 3-4 games that implement it in a noticeable and meaningful way. Especially if you pay as much for the card as you would for a whole, solid build.

Everyone bulling nvidia for only having 8 gb, but lets be real: the only real issue for memory it's with the 3070 and 3070ti having only 8gb, rest of the cards are fine (Also the 4070ti that is a nearly as fast as a 3090 and has only 12 maybe)

I'm still trying to find the difference between RTX on and RTX off, I can't see it, I swear, but what I can feel from it is the FPS going nuts from 100 fps to less than 30 sometimes 😅

It's highly dependent on the game how much of an improvement or lack thereof there might be. Like 90% of the time it's not worth using. Costs too much performance for barley any noticeable improvements in gameplay. Most of the time you have to stop and pixel peep to spot the difference. Raytracing is a great time saver for developers though. And it can substantially improve some games. It's just too hard to run currently. Only a few games feel worth messing with it

In 2016 i had an Asus R9 390OC with 8gb ddr5 512bit 2ghz(from red team) after almost a decade they still release same raw power but with different drivers. If they release a gpu with 24gb minimum 64gb max,who will buy the upcoming 1.2× increase driver boost? In thier corporate mind,making a gpu that lasts 10y is not profit,thus 3 gen consoles(ps4,ps4pro,ps5) and (gtx780,gtx980,gtx1080,rtx2080,rtx3080,rtx4080 and counterparts)6 gen for gpu,same for cpu.

Stuck with it since 2016. NVIDIA fanboys have special 8GB VRAM breed and anytime you can't max out a game on midrange VRAM from 2016 it's because of bad game optimization but if it runs like crap on your 6600K and HDD it's because your hardware is too slow.
