"slightly less illegal Dragonite" is definitely on my list of things i never expected to hear. Great job on a deathless game!

Certainly is an interesting and fun challenge to witness. A small question that I would like to ask. How will regional variants factor into this? Like, when you get to Alola, would you allow yourself to use an Alolan Raichu?

Just started doing this challenge (with a couple changes) and have too say, it's been a blast so far. I normally just run leaf green (it's comfort food for me) so using that as a jumping off point has been quite the interesting change.

I'm surprised you didn't at least face Janine.

Another great adventure for Ace and the gang, I like how this time there was no clear MVP, but Starman is a Dragon slayer, Lance will have a hard time swallowing that pill 😅. Great job on this one as always Joe, I look forward to the next leg of the journey!

How much of the post-game are you planning on doing in future regions? It would be cool to see Episode RR in Alola and the DLC in Paldea. The Looker post-game quest in Kalos would be interesting to see just because nobody does it; the same holds true for the Alder or Cynthia fights in Unova depending on if you play BW or B2W2. It would have been cool to see the ORAS Delta Episode, but I understand choosing a gen 3 Hoenn game, and it's clear from how you approached the HGSS post-game that you don't intend on replaying through regions.

Yeah probably not. If it’s an easy to get to final battle, like Steven then I’ll do it. But I’m not likely to go through too many hurtles to get there tbh

They're notoriously not very difficult, not even Blue. I highly doubt he would have lost a Pokémon. If they were more difficult fights or if he hadn't played through the region before (keeping the theme of the series), I would have more of a problem with it.

it is too easy, you can choose any pokemon from your bank so there is no big type challenge. What you can do is: you only can use a specific pokemon once in the whole run. For example, if you use pikachu line in Falkner, you cannot use this line ever again.

I can't actually use any Pokémon from the bank, because they still start at the level they were caught at. Meaning I can use them once I travelled through the region enough to bring up the level cap. Doing it the way you describe would required actually catching more pokemon, and is the same thing Chaotic Meatball is currently doing.

True, I forgot about the level you captured, but once you get up to 4th, 5th gym you almost can use any pokemon. I guess the problem is that some pokemons are simply to good. @@NuzlockeJoe

@@viniradavid Yeah that is true. I'm trying to avoid just using the same team over an over again, but its easy to fall into old habits that are proven to work.

Why do the Pokémon keep disappearing from the box?

They change position in the box as I take out Pokémon from the box. But the total number of Pokémon in the box and on my team is constant

Mainly because I wanted to start at gen 3 kanto, and going backwards to green 2 didn’t really appeal to me. I don’t know if I’ll do any more series like this unless this one picks up a bit. But if so, I’ll do gen 2 johto
