It pretty excellent with electrics. Sound better with single coil rather than humbuckers.

Thanks for this good comparison. I have both of those. The Stageman sounds better than Optima air when connected with an acoustic guitar (even with microphone too). The Optima is more like a acoustic guitar Simulator. Moreover Stageman also have a button to change between piezo to magnetic pickup. But for electric guitar optima wins. To me stageman is the right choice for acoustic guitar.

Optima Air is amazing IR player/recorder and it can make your guitar sound incredible natural. Pre-loaded IRs in Optima Air is the only bad thing about this pedal, you always must record your own IRs for your acoustic guitar and your favourite mic. Pre-loaded IRs are usable only in cases like acoustic sim for electric guitars only. If your goal is to make undersaddle piezo pickus sound like mic - Optima Air is the only right choise.

Great demo my friend I’m investigating acoustic preamps right now for use with my acoustic electric ukulele.

Cool. You should look at the optima air specifically for the neve 1073 preamp. That should make you uke sing.

I would say he is referring to an internal mic pickup within the guitar body.

Thank you.... I have a cort 500e acoustic guitar with a pickup. All the tone selections for the IR or Amp gives a screeching sound.. Are there some different settings to be done on pedal for such guitars.

what are you playing thru a pa, bass amp, acoustic amp, electric guitar amp ? both pedals sound nice whatever you are going thru, Thanks i really enjoy your videos so helpful, Peace

Hello :) I am really interested in the Optima Air. Any chance you know if I need a DI box if I had this pedal? My acoustic also runs into effect pedals. Many thanks.

I have the NUX Optima Air. My question: Is the Optima Air true bypass? When playing it with my electric, I don’t know how to turn it off.

I just bought a Godin xtSA which is a solid body guitar that has magnetic pickups and a piezo, which can be output separately. I already have the Nux Stageman, and ran the Godin piezo through it and it sounds good, but without as much body as I would like. I wonder if the Godin piezo would benefit from this pedal more (e.g. make it sound more acoustic). I plan on running the magnetic pickups through a modeler pedal, but want to preserve the ability to switch to an acoustic tone.

If you're going to use a modeler, I would suggest one that has electric and acoustic tones, like the MG-30 for example.

@@ThePedalGuy I have ordered an MG-30, but the issue for me is going to be that I can only have one input into the MG-30 at a time, so if I have the humbuckers routed in there and want to either mix in the piezo, or switch to it, there's really no way to solve that problem.

@@ThePedalGuy Of course, but that means it's either or. I want to be able to do both at the same time. I'm going to end up getting a mixer to solve part of the problem, but what I'm trying to solve for is making the piezo sound more acoustic, while at the same time being able to treat the humbuckers differently. I would like sell of my stageman and swap in the Air and just run the piezo alone through it, or via the effects send on the mixer.

Thanks for the great comparison video, I have the Stageman Floor Pedal and watching your comparison video I am tempted to go out and buy the Optima Air Pedal. The reason is that at the end of your video you said about combining both pedals to get some interesting results. How would you combine both of these pedals to get the best results from each? Is there any chance that you could produce a video of these two pedal combined together, I'm sure many people would be interested. Looking forward in anticipation.

Question, can you connect a 2nd instrument through the return insert?

Wondering if there is an update or a setting on the stageman where you can just set the 2 footswitches in looper mode, left as a rec/play/undo and right footswitch as the stop/clear? Thanks😊

Not that I’m aware of. The Stageman is pretty long in the tooth at this point so maybe that’s something we’ll see with a mark2 at some point

@@ThePedalGuy Ok well that sounds exciting anyhow. Tuner and a way to do above and I'm sold on it!!! If you still see this, im wondering why the TRS send/return jack? It's on my Atlantic also, Is it an fx loop INSIDE the stageman or is it to put the stageman INTO another units fx loop (but you could just use the in/out for that)? Thanks :)

Would the Optima air work with a nylon string guitar?

It should, so long as the nylon guitar is using a piezo pickup. The preamp portion would definitely work and should sound really nice with the 1073 preamp sound.

@@ThePedalGuy I'm using a classical guitar with a Kremona pickup which is passive (magnetic). I was searching for a preamp pedal and found the Optima Air. It has an effect send/return which was the option I wanted. If you add up everything the pedal does- it's a bargain. I don't own the pedal but I'm already impressed. Thanks for the demo.

Does the Optima Air have true bypass? I can seem to yarn it off when playing my electric guitar thru it.

Would the optima air work with a Gretsch hollowbody?

Appreciate the feedback. Just listened to it again and I don’t hear the overdrive but it was recorded a tad hot.

Why is the audio and video not synchronized properly? This is a audio gear related channel after all.

Aside from additional functions such as reverb, chorus and loop I don't find the Stageman sounded significantly better than the humble Behringer ADI21; but the Optima Air is a unique product in this respect.
