Nutted on the Leicester Line
Andrew and Val continue their travels on narrowboat Reverie up the Leicester Line of The Grand Union Canal. Through Watford Gap and up the Watford staircase locks to the delightful twenty-mile summit where I get nutted. We talk freedom, bucket and chuck it, toilet smells, and what life was like for the boat families of yesteryear before we finally descend the Foxton Locks.
Please can you consider supporting my channel, because any small investment will help me spend more time making quality videos, purchase better equipment, and help me continue my travels. Thank you

I was so surprised the bag didn't burst when I failed to catch it. Yeah they were delicious Phil. And thanks for giving a title for the vid!
I had time to get in the music room. Put up a new KZread. Hope you like it.

Not using my phone.😀 we did a concert on March 31. Miranda took vieos for me. Put the longest up this evening. the sound is really pretty good. Faces a little washed out but not terrible . Winter is still holding on here. I'm ready for mud!

Hi Skip, only just got this message, don't know what youtube are up to with comments at the moment. They appear on some devises and not on others. Glad you're playing gigs again. We've been meaning to catch up with your music for a few days now, will give them a listen tomorrow. Hope all is well.
Always an enjoyable cruise along the Leicester summit .Thanks for the realistic description of being a working boater .lt’s like working on a farm ,the realities are not what you see on the television.but it can be fun .And Thanks to Val for the outro 👍

Thanks Tony. Funnily enough I recently KZread recently recommended a Jack Hargreaves 'Out of Town' video recorded in the 70s and he was talking about how hard it was working on a farm.

Thanks to both of you for a lovely video. Lots of interest in the hedgerows with fruit and berries. When I was young, I was fascinated by the Watford Gap, without really understanding what it was, apart from having a service area there. Tha ks Val for your song at the end. I know you have another on KZread, but I haven't watched it yet. Take care of each other.

Thanks to you both. My first knowledge of Watford Gap was the Roy Harper song from the early 70s, and I wasn't aware that routes other than the M1 shared the space until travelling by narrowboat. This is the good thing about narrowboat travelling, I mean who knew that the Birmingham/ Wolverhampton conurbation stood on a plateau? No matter which direction you approach it on via boat you have plenty of locks to go up.

Well, that’s every episode watched in the last week. I’ve come to the conclusion that one day I’m going to buy a narrow boat! 🤣 Love the Chanel you deserve many more subscribers!

Brilliant! Thanks for watching Rob. I've had a few people tell me they've bought a boat because of my vlogs. I reckon I should get commission on boat sales!
Having discovered you when your broken man video cropped up I binged all your content last week. Really enjoying it - keep up the good work. Lovely to see you appear in my neck of the woods - if you want a large audience when doing a lock then Foxton is the place to be! 😉

Thanks so much, and thanks for binge watching too!
We found vitamin yeast tablets kept the smell down in a cassette toilet - probably works the same in a pump-out. You can buy huge jars of the tablets very cheaply - just chuck a handful down.

That's an interesting tip, cheers. Will give it a go.
I agree about ‘feeling’ the seasons. We have gone soft nowadays; you have sold the idea of a live aboard life more than any other channel. I’ll stick to Canadian canoeing along the Thames for now 👍 It’s been the making of your for sure!

Thanks so much Will. This one sadly wasn’t written by me. It’s an early Passenger song but I loved it from the moment I heard it and knew I had to cover it. To me the lyrics speak volumes in their simplicity and truth.
