@arupdebbarma4420 it's been about 7 months since my total gastrectomy and I have to say it has been challenging. I can eat usually a small child's plate of food at a time. That is also dependent on what kind of food. I still have trouble digesting meats so I eat smaller portions of meat. The key is to chew very well, eat slowly, and make sure you are calm when you eat. I cannot eat soft breads, or sweets very well. I have found a product called "Reflux Gourmet " on Amazon that is amazing for the Reflux I get after meals. Thanks for asking how I'm doing.

There are a few questions I Hope you can help me : 1. How do you manage if you ate too fast or too much and the food seemed to get stuck...? 2. Why is my abdomen seemed really tight and crampy sometimes after meal? 3. To avoid dumping effect is to have carbo after we do our protein

My tia had her stomach removed because of cancer, she ate food slowly.

My father has gone through total gastrectomy. He is facing the acid reflux and bile reflux situation. Whenever he tries to eat he feels something is coming out and that's stopping him to eat the required amount of food. Please guide how to manage this. Weight loss:- 64 post op to 47 in 2 months

Could you find a way to stop the weight loss? If it's bile reflux, then the reason might be a too short roux limb. This can be helped in severe cases by another surgery.

I have bile Reflux bad too. I ordered this product called "Reflux Gourmet" from Amazon and you take it after you eat and it acts sort like a stopper and helps the Reflux. Its a little pricey but well worth it. I've lost 50 pounds and am pitifully thin but I've read the weight starts to stabilize from 6 to 12 months. It's definitely a battle to try and gain weight. Good luck.

When they made the gastrectomy?

Did it hurt when eating (swallowing) at first, or ? How long after surgery, could you have let’s say a beer and eat things like red meat…?

Hello. I had my stomach removed on September 8th. Between 4+4 rounds of chemo. I haven’t had solid food yet and when I try to, it hurts when I swallow. I want to throw up. Does that “feeling” last long? Also, how long after surgery did you have alcoholic drinks? Can you drink beer or it’s too gassy. Are spirits better or too strong ?

@@arupdebbarma4420 I had a few set back after surgery. First I had a leak from the connection between my esophagus and my lower intestine. So they put a stent. When they took the stent out the leak was cured but the scarring blocked my esophagus shut. I couldn’t eat or drink… So they put a new (bigger) stent and left the feeding tube in. I still have both the stent and the feeding tube now. The tube is coming out next week and the stent in mid June. I still have abdominal pain (chronic) but everything else is much better. I can eat and drink anything I want. I just have to keep it in small doses and often through the day. Slowly but surely I am getting there 🙏👍😎
