On Nov. 30, 1945. Col. John Amen, assistant American Prosecutor, called the Tribunal's first witness, Major Gen. Erwin Lahousen, a former German military intelligence officer and one of the survivors of a small group of plotters who tried to assassinate Hitler in July 1944.
