Numenera [First Run Reflections]]
Ойындар
Ever since I reviewed Numenera I wanted an opportunity to play the system. Here's my thoughts on how I gathered the players, set up the session, and brought it all together for my Session Zero point Five.

I got to play some of this a year or so ago and really enjoyed it. It's one I'd like to get more time with, but it didn't really take off with the group I was in.

I’m sorry to hear that! I’m hoping my group takes to it becuse it’s a blast to run.
Well that was inexpected :) Love the party bonds they came up with. Players making all the rolls is interesting - frees the GM up to think about other things, and precludes dice fudging which is nice. The Numenera world sounds really cool.

Pretty nice.
Great to hear your initial experience. I'm curious as to how it goes when you eventually do a custom Cypher system setting of your own creation. So many options, especially if including expanded genre splatbooks.

I am tempted to make a post-apocalyptic game. I like things generic cypher adds in, too. Flavor is a neat way to approximate class and a half.
This sounds like a blast! I love the connections tables for connnecting characters to the campaign especially that is so useful!

Yah, it worked out well. I love that the table embraced the randomness and then let the connections solidify during the first play. It worked GREAT.

That's so great cuz I would assume that means everyone is ready to also embrace their unique connection to the story and let the dice inspire them!

Thank you so much! That means a lot. Hope you can check out the channel a bit more!
Yay! Wait.. Four players is small? 😅 That's the biggest group size I usually play with and it's a lot to handle already.

Finished watching. That sounded a lot of fun! I will keep this in mind and give cypher another go at some point. The setting seems so enticing that I think it would be Numenera. Thanks again for sharing!

It’s rather fascinating. Also, there’s no official skills list. You get to pick skills that fit a general concept.

I’d like to play as an eclectic , cautious smart aleck please.

Foci = "Foe-kai". It's the plural of "Focus".

@@DMTalesTTRPGNo worries. When I was 13 I asked a comic book store clerk about a book by Bill Sienkiewicz. I pronounced it just like its spelled. 🫨

@@DMTalesTTRPG That could be it. Pretty sure that's how Monte Cook (the creator) also pronounces it (I think he's in Montana or thereabouts).
