Number Sense Routines for Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Grade // how many ways to make a numbers

This number sense routine, Fill the Grid, is a great one to get students thinking flexibly about numbers and brainstorming how many different ways they can make a number. This number sense activity can be done whole group, in a small group, or independently as a math warm-up! This is video #3 in my Number Sense Routines series, so be sure to check out the other videos below as well:

Thanks Susan! I'll be adding this to math talk routine. I think it would be good to add a step of sharing in partners before whole group *if time allows*...This would allow for an additional opportunity for sharing math strategies or thoughts.

Love this idea! I agree that would be a great way for them to share their ideas and thoughts first. Thank you for sharing!

Aloha! LOVE all of your videos, as always. Do you have a copy of the "fill the grid" worksheet? I tried looking on your TPT but was unable to find.
