As someone who currently has a kid goat on top of me, this is correct goats are menaces to society and this is why I adore them. I have had many of hair cuts, mornings chasing them out of roads, removing them from fences they got stuck in, treating the kids for various types of stings, chasing them out of shed, etc, etc. This one is actually only on top of me because while he is a little over three weeks old he thinks he should be fully Weened off a bottle. (He’s a bottle baby due to rejection)

I'm remembering a day when I was riding along at a brisk trot in the arena when my horse suddenly ducked his head, slid his hind legs under, and came to an absolute dead halt. (Physics required that I kept on advancing forward since there was no time to adopt a defensive position.) Wha? Yes, utterly unexpected - and when I looked around for a reason, I followed his eyes and discerned an Amish horse & buggy coming down the road nearly a quarter mile away...a sight he had never before seen, but clearly saw and heard long before I did. Lesson learned: I've since always rode with eyes scanning my entire visible perimeter in order to see trouble BEFORE my horse does. This simple safety measure has paid off nicely for me over the past 30 years, deer, donkey, and even swooping eagles, included.

Sometimes horses have anxiety over nothing. The wind blew the wrong way, they saw a shadow move, or they just decided the stars were not in alignment. Sometimes there's a very real threat (of goats), and you need to listen and solve the problem! (My horse freaked out bad this one time, and I dismounted, walked her over to the bushes to show her it was alright - anD THERE WAS A GIANT HORNET THE SIZE OF MY THUMB. Our horses are used to seeing heards running jumping and dogs barking etc it is very good for them to get used to it the goat gives you the chance to make your horse understand that he can feel safe around u, and also that goats are harmless haha
