What would be a defenition of a military base? Amount of buildings, amount of soldiers, amount of technical units ....

My family is Ukrainian, so I am not making any excuses. Whatsoever for Russia, but you can sort of understand why they are pissed that the US would have bases in Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania, former Soviet countries. The US would be the 1st to complain if Russia started putting bases in Canada and Mexico. Hell, they were pissed at they tried to put one in Cuba right when they had a base in Turkey full of nuclear missiles.

I do not think that is very fair. The US only has borders with those 2 countries. Russia has borders with 14 I think. The three Baltic states were not part of the Soviet Union between 1918 and 1940. The borders that Russia has with these 3 countries is very small. The border with Lithuania(and Poland) is only because of the Kaliningrad enclave. This is not Russian land, it is German! The border with Norway is also small. As for the 800 odd miles border with new NATO member Finland, Russia only have themselves too blame for that.

In Spain there are not 4 American bases. There are two Spanish bases that have a part leased to the Americans, but the bases are under Spanish command.

There arent American military bases in Canada, but rather US soldiers operate in some Canadian bases, and likewise Canadian soldiers operate in some US bases, like joint operations

There is currently no American military base in Hungary. NATO member Hungary provides a base for American soldiers in case of war, but there is currently no such war. It was an American base during the Kosovo war, but it was closed 20 years ago.

The only place that U.S had a military base in Brazil was in natal in 1942 during the ww2, to fight German submarine forces in our coast, after 1946 the US military left the base for the Brazilian Air Force and since then never stablished a new one. Who’s saying that Alcantara is a military base is totally wrong, Alcântara is a space center that Brazilian government signed a contract with NASA to launch their spaceships and rockets from there because is closer to the equatorial line, and you can save about 20% of fuel during the launch. Sorry for the English I’m bit hurry.

It is sad.What kind of sovereignty can the countries in which foreign military bases are located have?The USSR removed it long ago.But a democratic USA should keep rich countries at gunpoint

Because both countries lost in WW2, obviously the USA will restrain and prevent these two countries from rising into superpowers that can affect the US hegemony in the future. Well, think about how strong Germany & Japan are in WW2 you will know why America has so many bases in those two countries

Десяток стран боятся терористов рашистов и с радостью приняли бы базы ядерной сверхдержавы. Но вам тупым же не понять это. Какой суверенитет у России? Страна порабощеная узурпатором, свободы слова и выбора нет, и судя по всему стала васалом Китая.

A Constituição do Brasil proíbe a instalação de bases militares estrangeiras em seu território. E mesmo se permitisse, teria uma forte oposição dos militares, eles são radicalmente contra isso. Não tiro a razão deles, o Brasil já é grandinho o suficiente pra tomar vergonha e buscar capacidade para se defender sozinho.

During the Vietnam War, Thailand used to have 8 US military bases. But currently there is no clear information.

In some countries, there are American bases, but they are not operational.

We don't have any US military base in Thailand now , but we have regular military exercises using our facilities in Thailand

In Italy unfortunately we have around 120 military bases between Nato and us army.....

Portugal has one in Azores

USA started to produce weapons, aircrafts and ships in full scale in 1942. By the time the ww2 ended, their huge economy, united in war effort, produced so much weapons that they had no where to use it. USA had very small military back in 1940. around 130 thousand troops. They were all about business and money. In Capitalist way of life there were no corporatist back then

Respecto a España esta información no está actualizada. Hubieron 4 bases militares estadounidenses: Torrejón de Ardoz, Zaragoza, Morón de la Frontera y Rota. Las dos primeras fueron abandonadas en 1991 y 1992 respectivamente y la base aérea de Morón de la Frontera pasó a estar bajo mando español tras el Convenio de 1998 aunque por el artículo 8 se concede a los estadounidenses el uso de instalaciones de apoyo.

En España nunca hubo ni hay bases militares de EEUU, todas son españolas. EEUU tiene presencia militar en 2 de ellas (Rota y Morón de la Frontera), pero la soberanía de dichas bases recae en España. Y el convenio data de 1988, no de 1998 😉.

Именно. Я думаю война чисто из-за чёрного моря. Нам нельзя его терять, ибо просто начнут душить полностью со всех сторон (петля анаконды) Без чёрного моря мы умрём. Но они знали, что мы будем отстаивать свою позицию и это им тоже на руку. Готовили их. Как ни крути, но выхода не было. Не мы придумали это. Хотя Россия пыталась продлить аренду ЧФ, но нас на бабки кинули. Соглашения? Ну есть слова Олланда и Меркель. Дипломатия не работала. Вот и вся суть. За американские амбиции как всегда умирают люди, а часть мира им ботинки целуют.

In Italy the US Army , USAF and US navy bases , sites and warehouses are more than 100 , if I am right up to 110 not only 44 . Included the nukes site . So basically , Italy, Germany and Japan, this means quite something 😂

I did some research and found that there are 9 purely US bases, but you have to take into account the NATO bases and the Italian bases shared with both NATO and the US, and it comes to more than 100. Then there is talk of 20 secret bases, both NATO and US.

Well not every military base is the same size so it’s difficult to compare just the number of them. Would be better to compare the amount of staff working in that bases

Of course, we know that the United States is an extremely peace-loving country! And the fact that 170,000 of its active-duty personnel stationed outside the United States and its territories (not counting American and foreign civilian personnel and mercenaries from the PMCs) - this just confirms it. :)
