🎅 Nuclear Icebreaker to North Pole: '50 Years of Victory'/50 Лет Победы 💈

💈 TO SOUTH POLE 🧊 - • 💈 Journey to the South...
You might also enjoy some of my other films of icebreaker voyages 🚢:
⛄ "Northeast Passage on a Russian icebreaker" ( • ⛄ Northeast Passage on... )
🐧 "Icebreaker Voyage to Emperor Penguins in Antarctica" ( • 🐧 Icebreaker to Empero... )
⛄ "Sailing the Northwest Passage" ( • Video )
This is an in-depth film of a voyage through the Arctic Ocean ice to the geographic North Pole on the nuclear powered icebreaker '50 Years of Victory'. Leaving the North Pole, we visited Franz Josef Land before sailing back to Murmansk. Along the way we saw polar bears, walruses, seals and birds.
'50 Years of Victory' (50 лет Победы / 50 Let Pobedy) is the largest and most powerful icebreaker in the world. She is an engineering marvel and is powered by 2 nuclear reactors that produce 75,000 horsepower giving her the ability to break through ice up to 2.8 meters thick or nearly 10 feet of ice.
The 50 Years of Victory has an endurance of 5 years before she needs refuelling with new uranium. The reactors eliminate greenhouse gas emissions that are characteristic of ships burning fossil fuels.

I like that somebody that has the wealth to be able to take a trip like this, makes the effort to share it with the rest of us who have no hope of ever doing such a trip. It's a good second best! This took a lot of time to put together with planning, editing, voice-over, background music and so on. Thank you sir for your generosity with your time, hope you enjoy many more exotic adventures.

You can go wherever you want in Russia. The border patrol would not stop you coming North. You can go up to the next one in Canada if you want. Do you? You won't need money there just your guts to preserve. The polar bears are still there and they are always hungry.

Great documentary! Thank you for painstakingly record every detail of a trip that most of us can only dream about. I especially enjoyed your obvious in-depth knowledge of the fauna of the arctic region. Watching the video is almost like being there myself, with a professional guide. Thumbed up and subscribed!

Very well narrated and documented. I enjoyed watching the whole film. Very educational and informative. It`s only now I learned there is such a tour or trip in the north pole which I thought was only for explorers and scientist. The entire trip must be very expensive indeed. Great film. Thank you.
