+Ronnie Dichosa The Binibining Pilipinas 2016 class was good since all their girls were placed including Maxine Medina's top 6 finish in MU 2016 and Kylie Verzosa's Miss International 2016 title, but it wasn't as scary good as the 2013 and 2015 batches where those two BBP batches are considered to be the best BBP batches ever. The 2017 batch has a tall order in front of them.

I like the 2016 batch because like you said, the sexy and fierce appeal that made all the girls placed, but Kylie Verzosa and Nicole Cordoves added the quality brainy aspect of the pageant. I like the smarts aspects from the 2017 batch, but they have a tall order in front of them to duplicate the success the 2013 and 2015 batches had where those batches are arguably the two best batches in Binibining Pilipinas history and those two batches have well-rounded skills.

Last year was a joke except Kylie. Thank goodness this year happened and they screened such smart girls so kahit hindi man maka-bag ng crown eh at least hindi tayo mapapahiya. Natuto ang BBP from last year for sure.

ang gaganda pala nila pag less make up and all of them a really fluent in English and they talk with sense.

What a great group of gals -- very well spoken, confident, and yet still exhibit some "mahinhin" traits of traditional Filipinas! You go girls!!

It is not bad, it is something beautiful about our culture.

More often than not, half-breeds are chosen to represent the Philippines in international beauty competitions. I hate to say it but this is all rooted in the Filipinos' ingrained prejudice (or racism) that if you have pale skin and/or have Caucasian features, or have a slender face and pointy nose, you are perceived to be better looking, and therefore superior to those who do not share your physical attributes. There is so much hypocrisy when they try to dance around the issue and pretend that race has nothing to do with it. I would give a beauty contest judge a big slap on the head if he/she said that a particular contestant won "not because of the color of her skin and her physical features".

Trying to add a Big Four crown under the BBP name (Universe and International) for three straight years and four out of the last five won't be easy.
