Ever heard of the Surveillance Devices Act 2007? Look it up. Recording a conversation in NSW without the express permission of both parties is illegal and the penalty is 5 years jail. Publishing that conversation as you have done is another penalty- 5 years jail & $11,000 fine. Not a lot of people seem to understand that law but ignorance is of course, no excuse.

@@robbierolla It is illegal to record audio in public spaces without permission or informing the subject that you are doing so. The front foyer of a police station is not a public area. Whilst the public can go there it is the same as any business and therefore not considered a public area.

There is no expectation of privacy in a public place. There is currently no law in Australia that prohibits you from filming in a public place without asking for permission. All I know inside a cop shop can be sensitive things on display but I am not sure about recording I interview rooms, maybe because private information may be disclosed regarding other officers but again not so sure
