it feels so good that they not only won, but it wasn't some fluky cheese game/series. NRG absolutely stomped G2 in response to the bm. Out prepped, out drafted, and completely smothered at every turn. Yike thought his start was cute and Contractz haunted his every move afterward. hopefully they can keep the energy up despite the long wait in between series. Man NRG deserve that and my God, can we all just take a moment to appreciate the absolute unit that is Captain Flowers?

As an EU fan, I despise G2. They usually win of gimmicks, and are the most momentum based team. If they get thrown off their groove at all they fall apart. Then everyone talks about how amazing they are when they're wildly inconsistent. If they don't win draft they usually lose.

They play really really really well, but watching this vs the eastern teams still is missing something. Watching T1 vs LNG felt so different. Their was always something going on. The way vision control is handled is so much different and how it is fought for. I hope to see the west reach that some day, but it just feels so far

Was blown away by their performance. This wasn’t won with clown fiesta energy. It was methodical. It was by the book. They had their number today.

This nrg has old c9 magic. I can feel that vibe from them. They have the synergy and mental. Current c9 doesn't have that anymore ever since sneaky left.

As the commentators stated, NA players were affected by many losses, because they repeatedly sent the same players. I understood this when TL (specifically Doublelift) in 2019 proved any team can win, and went to the finals at MSI. It's a matter of confidence and making good decisions during the game. This team is a fresh start and caught G2 by surprise when they were actually having initiative instead of the usual fear and defensive play style.

I may never stop smiling.

NRG made sure that Kaisa couldn't play the game. Hans didn't get to do anything without getting hit by Senna Qs or Vi Rs.

It really felt like NRG’s coaches drafted both teams. They baited those picks so hard. The Bel’veth pick was just ego tbh. But the rest of the draft NRG basically picked it for them and countered it.

I kinda disagree. Their job is to look at stats and probability and tell us what that is. And they did. It’s pretty clear that NRG over-performed by a lot and G2 underperformed compared to their usual performances. It’s very clear that RNG historically thrives in chaos and never really utilizes methodical straightforward gameplay. They beat most of the top teams in their own region by out-clown-fiesta’ing the whole region. Throw everything into chaos and get everyone outside their comfort zone to force mistakes. And that’s very clearly not what happened today. They did all their homework. They out-drafted. They read Yike’s movements and had a counter to nearly every gank in the series. They playstopped very hard. And then they stuck to methodical gameplay. They shoved before rotating and overloading one side of the map so they didn’t lose anything on the other side. Whoever was on weak side at any given time played safe and anticipated being ganked or dove. This was a complete departure from how they won LCS Playoffs. It was extremely clean. Just a few gritty errors to shore up, but overall they just did everything better on the day and were the better team today. And there’s no way the analysts could have known they were gonna do that.

Vedius should be fired for how he casted this game, but also his tiresome level of bias towards EU in general. When Kobe was giving context for how long and arduous a journey Contractz had back to Worlds, cutting in with Caps is fucking insanity. Saying that NRG should basically treat this as a good experience to face the best of EU, as if they don't even have a chance to win, and consistently adding shit like "NRG have a gold lead... FOR NOW." is just unacceptable subconscious bias for a professional caster.
