NRE Encounters Black Hole While Testing Engine. 2500 HP 632CI BBC. Nelson Racing Engines. Camaro.

This is an unusual NRE dyno room visit. First, this beast broke the dyno again. Second, this engine is one of the meanist engines Tom has ever designed. Tom has to go to extreme measures to test this extreme horsepower engine. Then there is the issue of the encounter with the Black Hole. Man that is crazy! The City of Chatsworth seems to have questions. Its not our fault! We usually upload new videos on Friday when available so you can look for them. The uploader in chief is out of town this Friday. Look for a new car video on friday about two weeks from now. More information can be found at nelsonracingeng... as well as nelsonsupercars.... For media production go to VeritasMovieStu.... Take a look on Google for, TRYHRD Australia, our Customer's beast. NRE TV episode 177.

    I think what most people don't realize is yeah they make POWERFUL well-built engines. But they make that power using relatively LOW BOOST, most people blow their engines up using 30-40lbs of boost JUST to make 1000HP. These guys are using half and making more, they make engines that simply *work better.*

    Depends the headroom and the bore. Be advised that engine capable to run at these pressures are calibrated. So every pound of boost counts as extra weight on your piston to the crankshaft. If they stay under limits its their decision in their terms. If your goal is to make a world record and you don't care to swap blocks then that extra pound is always welcome.

    if you wanna talk about efficiency then consider the fact that this is likely going into a drag and it would be impossible to build an engine with 100 percent efficiency thats just physics. but the reason this engine is so impressive is because it hits the dynos peak torque and hangs on to it all the way up to the rev limit. for a v8 with traditional cam and valve geometry, thats impressive.

    The stellar black hole that we know forms gravitational forces, but it is possible to create another type of black hole with with any inward force pulling matter towards a singular center. To create a hole of any size from mass, you would need to compress matter so much that the speed required to break away from its gravitational force at the event horizon exceeds the speed of light. To generate holes from mass around 0.1mm in diameter, you would need the mass of our moon compressed into that size. The minimum qualifications of a black hole is mass equal to the Planck mass (22 micrograms) with 1,600,000J of energy, but this would create a hole equal to the Planck length - which is as equally disappointing as Planck mass. It is impossible to know if black holes can be created from vacuum since it hasn't been done before. If it is possible, the vacuum would need to have a force of at least 1,600,000J. It may seem like a huge number but it's practical considering a 4kg object sitting 5m off the ground has a gravitational potential energy of 196J. We could probably reach that amount of vacuum energy with current technology under proper conditions, but it's impossible to know if it would form a black hole. You might have just created the same amount of force a black hole does for a fraction of a nanosecond but it doesn't mean a black hole formed. The way this engine works, the vacuum force created in the cylinders isn't consistent, and black holes are a constant force. The spinning compression action of the turbos, however, is consistent. If a hole were to form anywhere it would have to be within the intake or exhaust turbines. If you really want test its probability (please do!), removing the wastegate on both turbos would allow the turbines to spin with the full force of the exhaust gas. I'm assuming the bearings within the turbo are ball bearings for friction reduction? And, the camera, would be need retrofitted to film ultraviolet light as black holes don't emit anything besides radiation. Assuming the engine isn't severely damaged from the runaway effect on the turbines caused by wastegate removal, this could lead to a lot of research!

I see the throttle cable when you showed shots of the back of the engine on the dyno but where exactly is it going? call it curiosity. I'm a fabricator and in my head I'm always on doing shit like this... • @joshssauce
    @joshssauce10 жыл бұрын

    If a person was to increase displacement in an engine they would either bore or stroke the engine, or both. It also depends on the number of cylinders. Larger combustion area = more displacement. So if a 10.4L engine made 1500hp, and a 4.0L made 1500hp, the 4.0L would have much more pressure inside of each combustion chamber since there's a smaller area it's being forced through. Engines usually can't be stroked and bored too much because the sidewalls will be too thin.

    You guys build the most awesome engines! One question I have though- Why do you always insist on NOT venting the exhausts out of the dyno room?? You have a 2500 hp motor filling the room with carbon dioxide and monoxide and heat and wonder why it struggles to make its rated power. Its choking itself to death on its own exhaust. This was the very first video of yours I saw, you took the window out of the control room and put some fans in and gained 350 HP on the motor straight away! Go Figure it out guys! You cant breathe inside a plastic bag- why do the same to your engines?

If only quality 100+ octane fuel was available at all fuel pumps in this country, engines last longer, fuel burns cleaner would not need all the useless power and fuel consumption robbing emissions devices thrown on cars to please a few green peace extremist states. After all, look up in the sky and see the airplanes fly burning more fuel than thousands of cars just when taking off. None of the airplanes have exhaust emission controls and Jet fuel is just slightly refined diesel, and yes it makes black smoke just like a diesel its just up in the sky and less noticed. Ever look at any city that claims to have smog problems? Just count the airports in that city, count the number of aircraft taking off every day and the answers are clear. It has never been the passenger cars and trucks, it has always been the airplanes causing all the smog. Cars have had garbage emission devices since the early 70's and all the smog still remains. Our cars consume much more fuel due to all these garbage emissions devices that choke the car's engines and the emission controls get worse and worse including the new garbage DEF and multiple diesel catalytic converters which make diesel engines get the worst fuel economy ever and in turn burn much more of it. And of course since diesel fuel is the cheapest fuel to make but some buffoon decided some years ago to price it as the most expensive fuel even higher than the so called 91 premium garbage gas. Since the diesel is so expensive guess what? the prices of everything have consistently gone up. Wonder why? Everything in this country is shipped and moved by diesel engines therefore the prices of everything is directly reflected by the price of diesel. Someone in this country's leadership with some common sense needs to lower the price of diesel back where it is supposed to be, the lowest costing fuel period. One should never pay more than $1.00 per gallon for diesel. Look at the prices of Diesel within the past 8 years, out of control. Count all of the government owned and operated vehicles that use diesel, its more than a master accountant can count. This includes ships, planes(JP fuel/refined diesel), trucks, tanks, Humvees, vans, busses, trains and many more. Wonder how much the military and government pay for diesel and jet fuel every year? If diesel was priced where it should be, could you imagine the effect it would have on government and military spending? It doesn't take anyone with any accounting experience to draw those conclusions. If anyone reading this is a congress person, politician of any kind, do us all a favor and fix this problem to save our country from the stupidity of the greedy rich that are causing this big problem that nobody in this country seems to notice. I understand your point... but that's a bit shortsighted. Jet engines are subject emissions regulation, i've never seen a properly functioning jet create black smoke, and your major airports/city smog theory doesn't hold up to the numbers... But yes, environmentalism is (among extremist groups) a travesty.

I've seen 427ci LS and ford sb do 2700 pretty reliably now. Admittedly aftermarket blocks ofc but so is the 632 shown here.

    Seems impressive but it isn't really! Talking in round numbers it's less than 200 bhp per ltr. Now I know when I mention Evo's the flames will commeth but it has relevance. 600 bhp from a 2 ltr Evo motor is an every day thing, thats 300 bhp per ltr!! Even 800 bhp is not that difficult, 400 bhp per ltr. If this motor made that power it would be over 4000 bhp!! There are of course Evo motors making over a 1000 bhp, quite extreme and it requires a stroker kit taking it to 2.4 ltr, but that specific output would need this NRE motor to make almost 10,000 bhp to equal it!
