Back then the NRA was having internal conflicts about how to fight those who would take our liberties away. Some were of the notion that we had to be bold and radical in defending our rights no matter who we offended, while others wanted a more balanced approach that didn't alienate the average gun owner. Mr Heston gave to us the last good years of his life bringing the NRA back together and making it the force for freedom that it is today, and I thank him for that. He served his country well.
