In comparison, by keeping 100% annuity in NPS, U showed more pension in NPS. But, probably u missed to take note that APY is giving guaranteed return of certain predetermined amount to the nominee upon death of the subscriber, while in 100% annuity NPS won't.

i watched your videos and received good knowledge but on one part of the video which is "Annuity rate" which you have taken as 6% by default. My concern is in future the interest rates will go downward only, as the cumulative inflation will go downward only. we may see Interest rate below 1 percent in coming 20-30 years. so, annuity rates will also go around 1%. Don't you think so. Because of this APY must be taken, nps is secondary as if anyone wants to invest more. Kindly correct if i am wrong. Current Annuity rate is around 5% (approx.)

This video is based on the assumption that interest rates will remain same after 25-30 years. What if the interest rates goes down to 2-3 percent. Have NPS, but there is no harm in having a small contribution towards APY. Think of it as an additional income as you turn 60.

I think it's a good decision from my side. Come my retirement in 2053. I'll at least get 10000-/ month, bt considering Inflation,I know it's nt going to be much. From now on, Atal Pension Yojana (APY) subscribers can increase or decrease the pension amount under the scheme any time during the year. The Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has asked all banks to process upgrade/downgrade of pension amount requests of APY subscribers throughout the year with effect from July 1, 2020. Subscribers can update pension amount once in a year. Earlier this facility was available only during the month of April year. According to the PFRDA press release, issued on July 6, "This arrangement will enable the Atal Pension Yojana (APY) subscribers to increase/decrease their pension plans as per their changed income levels and capacity to pay APY contributions, which is very important to continue contributions in the scheme till 60 years."

Hi, thanks for sharing the details around NPS. However, I want to file an application for my father. While filling personal details, there was an option to declare if you're orphan or not. Since I don't have any of the grand parent I marked yes in my father's application. But later on I need to submit a proof, so what document should suffice this case? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I'm glad you think ahead. Which is why one must keep increasing the contributions every year to cover for this. Why contribute a fixed amount? If your income increases, your investments should, too. Also, i do pick NPS over APY, but i am also a big fan of stock markets and mutual funds. Not all eggs are in the same basket :)

Q2. What is the difference if I have HDFC as POP or NSDL as POP? Q3. If HDFC becomes POP, do they charge something extra & deduct their commission from contributions I do towards NPS?
