Abe's animations really are the stuff you imagine as a kid in your head, thinking it would be impossible to visualize... and yet this absolute magician brings these type of scenes to life. The compositing team is just goated as always and really brings it all to the next level.

Watched the whole Uppermoon meeting segment,it was fucking gorgeous. That Akaza sequence at the starting was just 🥶(seriously wtf were those camera movements 💀) Some parts weren't even manga so much stuff that's added in the first episode. Yuichi Terao returned with some peak 🛐 And that Uppermoon 1's interaction with Akaza 😭 I was getting full Indian tv serial Vibes Even though I have watched like half of the episodes I'm just excited to watch it tomorrow.

Sometimes I just like imagining what other veteran animators' works would look like if they worked with Ufotable. Like what would Keiichiro Watanabe's cuts look like if the characters were actually synchronized with the background or what would Nakamura's crazy storyboards and background animation look like with Ufotable compositing. What that insane Norimitsu Suzuki sequence from MHA movie 3 would look like if Ufotable's compositing team got their hands on it.

thats just watanabe's style. the character not synchronising w the background causing the characters to look like theyre floating. but yutapon x ufo's compositing team would be sick.

Whenever I see Ufotable on title i click it faster than tengen 👍

The ink smears are indeed by Abe in episode 6, the Genga for the cut shows them.

Nahh best duo Abe+Kunihiro. Araki+ Imai is great however.

20:20 I believe Nozomu Abe has actually been using those kind of inky lines for a bit now. I remember seeing them in Lancers first Gae Bolg from the UBW series.

20:20 Abe actually used that "ink smears" before. Two examples i remember are his Gae Bolg on Fate UBW (the lancer vs archer ep) and one from Haifuri (the girl slicing the watermelon) Great video btw. Really nice to see some Abe animation spotlight

I really did not like the episode before S2's climax that much at first because of Sotozaki lol. So much slow mo and talking. Also imo the best Directors of Photography are definitely Terao and Funamoto from KyoAni.

There are 2 main types of "animation". If you look at the bottom left of the scenes where I'm talking about a particular animator, you'll see that I've written "KA". This stands for key animation (Genga). This maps out the movement, timing, poses etc and is the most important work. After this comes in-betweening animation (douga). This is very rarely done by the key animators themselves. Usually it is outsourced to other studios. The douga artists trace the key frames and then fill in the blanks using the notes left by the key animators to make the scene complete. So when I point out a scene and mention the name of an animator, it means that that animator did animate the whole scene, but technically not alone since the finished product is in-betweened by other people.

The funny thing is demon slayer overall is not fantasy. In fact it's more supernatural then anything else and it takes place in the tashiro era of Japan which is early 1904 in our world, like lol fantasy is supposed to take place in a completely different world 😅😂🤣 and this is coming from a demon slayer fan.

Plus there's Blood: the last vampire released in the year 2000 that I have to specifically mention because not only is it incredible with its animation, but it also has digital compositing that's on par with the best movies released today.

@@catlike9444 not quite right. While Abe gets involved in all of Ufotable anime, Imai does not. And also Imai works as CAD, Action Animation director for other studios. It's how Hironori Tanaka and Keichiro Watanabe are for Mappa.
