Now THIS feels like cheating - Zowie XL2546X (240Hz) Gaming Monitor Review | Before You Buy

Ойындар

For its price, this Zowie XL2546X (240Hz) is a real wholesome Esports Monitor that most people who are into competitive gaming would be happy with the performance and motion clarity.
About this Review
I do not have a professional background in electronics engineering and I don't want to read you the instruction manual so here's to share my experience with this Esports gaming monitor from Zowie.
Perhaps this would be more relatable from one gamer to another 😊
Coming from an AW3423DWF, I am very impressed with what Zowie has done with the XL2546X for gaming. and... you can probably guess what I was eating while designing the thumbnail 😅
*This is NOT a technical review.
I want to keep my reviews focused on the topic and avoid comparing them against competitor products. Comparisons will be made in separate content!

I guess it could be tuned to highlight characters as well as possible. Its not for me but i can see it could have a specific market.

I just bought the 2566k and its very good for fps for sure. I dont get headache with Dyac on but recognize only maybe 10% more clarity with it on. But I like how bright it is and clear to look at if you focus on ur crosshair for example.

Have you owned a comparable monitor? Iam trying to find a monitor that has 240Hz and is sharp, not as sharp as the zowiembut somewhere near that. Otherwise I would have to buy the xl2566k like you, which is a older zowie model.

@@17_jager37 I had an Alienware before, the panel had 240hz but if you go for the 360hz Variant it should be close to it for sharpness. Even wqhd Panels getting pretty cheap These days. If you can get a good Deal on them. It would be a better choice overall.

@@17_jager37 they dont will have the Dyac Feature or some good like that but if you dont mind that Feature at All go for a better Deal on some wqhd 240 or fullhd 360 Hz. LG, Alienware, Dell or Acer use good Panels today. Ktc is a more unknown Brand but making good deals if you dont mind trying it.

just go for wqhd 240hz or full hd 360hz most panels can match the sharpness but not the clarity in shooters but that doesnt made them worse. You can find good Monitors for cheap but dont buy to cheap LG,Dell,Alienware and maybe Viewsonic are good. A Highlight could be a Acer Monitor you can buy them cheaper with default skin, buttons and stands but the good panel like the gaming lineup, if you have a monitor stand already.

You mentioned "coming from an OLED", but you haven't really compared the motion clarity. Every review so far says OLED is better/clearer compared to Zowie with dyac off and equal or slightly worse compared to dyac on but many people experience headaches with that. So, obviously price wise, Zowie is the way even without dyac, otherwise OLED. Would you agree @Wasabi?

  • @PrimH3DA

    @PrimH3DA

With Dyac on OLED is not going to compare, there's a big difference between strobbed and unstrobbed. With Dyac off, 240hz OLED is going to have an obvious advantage.

@@PrimH3DA I guess so... but since I'm in the market for either I decided to go for zowie even without dyac. Why? Because I work on the pc all day and by the time I have time to game my eyes are already very tired and there are just too many reports of people having headaches from pwm flickering that oleds do, especially new 1440 360hz ones. The color fringing on the crosshair doesn't help either.

Personally i prefer an Oled and downgrade the resolution while gaming. This is because though i enjoy my R6 Siege gaming with my mates, the majority of my time on the computer is spent doing everything Other than gaming. I do however want to maximise how well i play so will be buying a 240+Hz Oled monitor and fast mouse and mousepad which ones are yet to be decided.though i have just ordered the Ninjutso Sora V2 mouse only to find out, without the yet to be released 8,000Hz donge, it only runs at 1,000Hz. Given the most recent mouse prior to this preorder mouse ran at up to 4,000Hz i had expected the latest version to come with a 4k dongle but No, just 1K. I wouldn't have ordered it.

Can you do 60-120-144hz too via Windows 10's Screen Settings? Also, every type of monitor panel is a "Pick your poison" world. IPS might have better colors but suffers mostly from backlight bleed and slight IPS glow wich can be VERY distracting on dark rooms to play dark games (Hello!) and VA panels' smearing is a huge NO. Sure OLED rocks but....Not everyone has the money to get one and then suffer from BURN IN RISK

I understand its for casuals, but the review was very poor because it didn't provide any real examples or explanations, or direct comparison. I know it's supposed to be your experience, but for the viewer there's no way to contextualize it. Also casuals don't really buy esports monitors. I'm sorry, but even without special tools and such you can still make a much more informative review. I'm afraid this is not helpful for me.
