Easy A Movie Description:
Prompted by her popular best friend to spill details of her boring weekend, Olive (Emma Stone), a clean-cut teen, decides to spice things up by telling a little lie about losing her virginity. When the high-school busybody (Amanda Bynes) overhears the conversation and spreads it all over campus, Olive is suddenly notorious but for the wrong reasons.
Easy A (stylized as easy A) is a 2010 American teen romantic comedy film directed by Will Gluck, written by Bert V. Royal and starring Emma Stone, Stanley Tucci, Patricia Clarkson, Thomas Haden Church, Dan Byrd, Amanda Bynes, Penn Badgley, Cam Gigandet, Lisa Kudrow, Aly Michalka, and Malcolm McDowell. The screenplay was partially inspired by the 1850 novel The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne.
Shot at Screen Gems studios and in Ojai, California, the film was released on September 17, 2010. The film received positive reviews with praise for Stone's performance, and was a major financial success, grossing $75 million worldwide against a budget of $8 million.

@@RedRoseSeptember22 the screenwriter who is a gay man said he put this scene in as a result of all his female friends confiding in him that they will be judged for having sex by their peers; and it is misogyny, but the majority of it actually SPOILER comes from other woman. And the few men that do do it, do it to go along with the girls that are being judgemental to just get in with them and on their good side. Mean Girls tackles this exact same issue too. And that is modern day men and boys are way more coached up and evolved now and not the problem, but female on female casual cruelty to each other is. It's inherent since the dawn of time so who knows if that can be spliced out of one's DNA, but the problem can't be solved by continuing to promote the false narrative that it's majority men doing this. The double standard that after sex men are billed as conquering heroes and women irredeemable whores is one ironically women perpetuate more than guys do. Because men honestly don't care about that kind of thing. It's actually the opposite. Men with their lizard brains think they have a better chance of scoring, if anything and makes females more relatable to them. Mean girls weaponize it to inflict pain as misguided jealousy and envy. Then publicly misdirect the blame to men to absolve themselves of any accountability. It's a vicious circle.

I did cyber school from 7-12th grade, but I obviously did go through the teen years, drama, friends betraying me, people always talking about me behind my back, and spreading all kinds of rumors about me in gossip circles. I could relate to wearing my heart on my sleeves for my friends only to be stabbed in the heart (not the back, THE HEART) over and over again, including my “friend” stealing the guy I really liked and who she knew I liked for years. The teenage years are the worst in so many ways. So I could definitely relate to this. I forgot how good this movie was. Thanks for the video. 🤗

If she has access to all the money it likely won’t do her good.

My favorite high school movie is 2000's Get Over It. It stars Kirsten Dunst, Zoe Saldana, Mila Kunis, Colin Hanks, Sisqo, Ben Foster and Martin Short as the hilariously over the top Fine Arts Chair, Dr. Desmond Forrest Oates.

Blaaaaaa the scene where she looks for a copy of The Bible gives me embarrassment flashbacks! When I was a (very young!) teenager I went into a book shop looking for Richard Dawkins. I did not know Christian book shops were even a thing. It was dawning on me because they had a rack of Jesusy tshirts but before it clicked in my head, the guy working there asked me if I needed help. I told him I was looking for 'The God Delusion'. He lowered his voice and very politely told me they only carried books "of faith". I was so dumb that I still took a blink to understand what I'd done. It was funny once I got out of the shop but omg I was mortified. He must have thought I was being intentionally rude! Ohhhhhhhh...

I have an older sister who was a grade above me. She was an excellent student always behaved well in school etc. I was bright, but a little more of the trouble maker. Nothing major, just I wasn't the goodie two shoes. Anyway, apparantly my sister would REALLY cut loose when she was with her friends and stuff outside school. anywho I had at least 2 really uncomfortable conversations with my mom because she had heard through the grapevine that her daughter was being a really bad girl. She assumed it was me and there was nothing I could do to convince her otherwise. She still believes it to this day.

Love all your videos, Mell. If you're gonna be doing more horror movies this month, you should check out the original Dawn of the Dead from 1978, directed by George A. Romero. I can honestly understand why you weren't exactly blown away by Night of the Living Dead, but everybody considers Dawn to be a major evolution towards the zombie genre as we all know it. Absolutely classic. Moving away from horror, if you want to check out more foreign or classic films, you have simply GOT to see Seven Samurai by Akira Kurosawa. It's the inspiration to the classic western The Magnificent Seven. I can understand wanting to watch that since it's such a well regarded movie, but Seven Samurai is absolutely essential viewing for global cinema. True classic.

When I originally saw this movie was the moment I fell in love with Emma Stone. This movie is EPIC and so is she! The casting was incredible, too. Stanley Tucci and Patricia Clarkson as her parents cracked me up. I love Lisa Kudrow, but this is the first time I've ever hated her character. Amanda Bynes was a c*nt! I wanted to crawl into the screen and END that Anson jerk when he was trying to assault Olive!!! But she ended up with the goofy, hunky Todd at the end! =) This is my feel good movie when I need a pick me up.

Nothing like my high school experience. What's wrong with florida? The parents were awesome. Best emma stone movie between this one and "the help". Yeah. Rheanan is a shit friend. She should have appologized to olive not the other way around. Tod's timing liking her does indeed seem suspicious but at least he stood by her when no one did.
