Madonna opens my mind to many different styles of music and especially different forms of art. She is an artist.

She’s playing a character during the interlude to go with the part she played in Dick Tracy with this type of music. Madonna does all genres!!

The album "I'm Breathless" was #2 in the US and sold +10 million worldwide to this day, it was a success!! This song was kind of a humouresque number. Perhaps you dont get it 'cause you didnt watch the movie nor listen to the album...

It was an album when she could just play around and have some fun. She had deliberately funny songs like "I'm going bananas" and Cry baby" but then stunningly beautiful and heart breakers like "Something to remember" and "He's a man". I think critics found it hard review because they like to pigeon hole albums into musical styles and IB didn't fall into just one or genres. ❤❤

Madonna’s soundtrack for the Dick Tracy movie was “music from and inspired by “ so yes this was another sample from that album. Definitely a change from the beginning of the show but you know she had to promote that album and film 😂

You need to listen to the whole of the “I’m Breathless “ album. The 1st bit of what you watched is called “ Now I’m Following You” which is a duet she did with Warren Beaty who played Dick Tracy in the movie- Madonna’s character was called Breathless Mahoney- Hence, I’m Breathless 😜 The second part of the Song is “Now I’m Following You” part 2 - This is a remix of the song that contains snippets of many of the sounds, songs & words taken from the whole album - Personally, I love it! 💖🎶💖- And I saw the whole of it live on the opening night of her UK leg of the tour at Wembley Stadium, Friday 20th July, 1990- Her Best tour EVER! 🎶🕺🎶

The entire soundtrack to the movie Dick Tracy was inspired by music from the 1930s, because that is the decade the original Dick Tracy comic book made its debut, so of course it is old sounding. This performance was kind of a "Filler" to phase out the Dict Tracy theme. Madonna is not even holding a mic so she can rest her vocal cords.

Yeah, it's basically an interlude. Not that serious so don't feel bad for being underwhelmed. The intro was the best part..."lots of people make records who can't sing" And the "naughty" lip synching...likely a reference to Milli Vanilli who had recently had to return their Grammy when revealed they weren't the voices on their songs.

You would like the Who's That Girl tour, it's wholesome and light hearted, and check out The Girlie Show, her best tour, imo. This Blond Ambition tour was her at the apex of her fame, and she was really on a high and wanting to cause a commotion and be shocking for the sake of it. She had a lot of pain and anger from her life. Watch those tours that I mentioned and suggested! You have to listen to the I'm Breathless album to understand this song. It's a mix of Now I'm following you and the song Cry Baby. Tell us how you really feel, by the way 😂 Lol

this is just a dance break that was taken form the film dick tracey.. She did it just to follow on form Hankey Pankey which was from the CD inspired from the film.

Batman (1989) had come out the previous year and Prince had a #1 hit with his bizarro single "Batdance". Madonna's "Now I'm Following You" was created in the vein of "Batdance" in hopes of another super successful single. Remember, that "Batdance" used many sounds and voice clips from the Barman movie in the song. "Now I'm Following You" does the same. That said, you don't need to have watched the film to like either song. They are meant to give listeners a sample of the vibe and style of the movie. In this case, cheeky 1940's detective vibes.

As a lifelong Madonna fan, I do agree with you. It was okay for the time but it didn't age well. I'm sure the studios negotiated some sort of promotion for the movie/soundtrack combo for "Dick Tracy" to be part of this concert tour, as they knew it would garner a lot of attention. Also, coincidentally enough, it gave Madonna a chance to rest her voice, as this tour was very intensive and did quite a number on her health. You can tell by the raspiness in her voice. Although I think the raspiness is kind of sexy. 👑

This track only makes sense if you know that Madonna did the soundtrack for, and co-starred in the movie. Without this info, and an understanding of the Dick Tracy lore, this just weird at best.

The album was fun, but a major departure for the film. And I liked that they decided to take a silly little dance interlude.... at first. Then the beat switch-up I found back in the day and now to be a decent touch. But then yeah.... even being familiar with the movie Dick Tracy and knowing what the references and samples were.... It was a "just get through it" for me with some real cringe moments.

Methinks you're taking it too seriously! It's kind of silly and easily the least compelling part of the show but it's a cute little song from the soundtrack and she's just taking the piss. I think she just should have exited after the first part (the second part is the dance remix) and let the dancers do their thing while she changed costumes. The next few songs are kind of silly. The first two sections of the show are the best. The last few songs are great too, but this middle stretch kind of slumps.

This didn't feel dated in 1990; I think you have been influenced by what's come after so watching this isn't interesting to you. 😊

I like the song but that opening skit is pretty gross. Madonna is trying to be shocking, but she introduces imagery that no one wants in their head, especially at an entertainment event. And she did this every night.
