@@MadameMeowth Olive Garden has went downhill over the years, in my opinion. I used to go with my late gramma all the time, and after she died rarely went back. The breadsticks are totally different, and not as good. We used to gorge on them when they were cut rectangles with edges freshly made. I suspect these individual ones may be shipped in and not made there. They changed the Zuppa Toscana, sausage is different and not as much kale. It was so good that I made up my own version at home, so I can tell it isn’t as delicious anymore there. While we do not drink wine, I remember they used to offer it, and they no longer do, but as I recall they had bottles and then switched to “house” kind without a label? That is a big change for anybody who drank there. I went a year ago and they have some kind of “club” to earn points now, which they never had before, more like Red Robin, to give customers incentive to come again sooner. They also had new items on the menu, and new drinks. I guess they were losing regular customers over the decades and want to appeal to a new generation.

@SandyDiVa per their official statement on the bankruptcy: "Red Lobster’s restaurants will remain open and operating as usual during the Chapter 11 process, continuing to be the world’s largest and most-loved seafood restaurant company." They are reorganizing their company, and selling parts of their business to their lenders to pay off their debt. When it's all done, they'll likely have fewer locations, and the ownership structure will be changed, but they're not going anywhere.

Ummm.... No. They kept all you can eat shrimp at the same price despite EVERYTHING ELSE nearly doubling in price for every other grocery store and chain restaurant in the US over the past 2.5 years.... Also, there were viral videos of people who would bring gallon Ziploc bags in and fill them then carry out the shrimp in their purse. If it was corporate greed then why didn't they charge $50 per person for all you can eat shrimp? Face it, corporate greed had nothing to do with this, inflation did.

@@Akakiryuushin "they hoped the unlimited shrimp would bring in customers" Wrong. They did the unlimited shrimps under pressure of a seafood supplier who owned 49% of Red Lobster and had beforehand become Red Lobster's sole supplier of breaded shrimp and had also increased prices. Of course that 49% stake in Red Lobster is now pretty much worthless but at least that supplier made some great short term quarterly gains. It also didn't help that a couple years ago a private quity firm did a leveraged buyout of Red Lobster that was financed in large part by Red Lobster having to sell all their real estate to then lease it back at inflated rates.

@shawnr771 it actually had little to do with them declaring bankruptcy. They have had terrible ownership for years. The current ownership knew bankruptcy was inevitable. So they decided to do endless shrimp daily to boost numbers to get people into the restaurants. As far as I know they plan to reopen after bankruptcy. With adjusted pricing. I don't think their plan will work. Other than their biscuits the rest of the food is extremely mediocre for a real restaurant. @@elaexplorer A box of Bisquick is inexpensive and has multiple uses. But, if you need everything premeasured and can only manage to add water, knock yourself out. I wouldn't want to bother you with a recipe for making your own Bisquick mix with fewer chemicals than the commercial brand, because that would involve...work.

Dang, we almost went to Red Lobster in Victoria, TX on Mother’s Day weekend, but we went to the brand new Longhorn Steakhouse instead. It was SO GOOD! I’ll always remember Red Lobster as the place I was once served alcohol without being carded when I was 20 years old haha! Rest In Peace.
