I am part of the global harmonica community. I guess being interested and involved in the harmonica community over many years has lead me to be elected as Vice-President of HarmonicaUK, and that's quite an honour - the President is Paul Jones from the Manfreds/The Blues Band
If you love harmonica lessons but don’t love me try Joe Filisko, David Barrett, Tomlin Leckie, Liam Ward, Adam Gussow, Ronnie Shellist and there are others!
When I heard Elwood Blues playing blues harp in the Blues Brothers film from the 80s, I couldn't get over the crazy sound of the harmonica. I watched the film over and over - even watched it last night! Had to get me a harmonica...
Seeing Paul Lamb playing the Station Tavern in London was the final straw - I started having lessons from him and became a Sonny Terry nut. From there Little Walter, Big Walter and gradually found out about all the greats.
Brendan Power introduced me to other players such as Charlie McCoy, JJ Milteau, Howard Levy and then I was hooked - a dead duck!
I started teaching professionally in 1995 while studying how to teach and began running workshops in London inherited from Brendan Power as he was joining Riverdance. The first lesson in school I taught in was Dulwich College in London and then in Bristol.
I've had the luck to study personally with Howard Levy (one week residential), Paul Lamb, Brendan Power, Joe Filisko, Richard Sleigh, Carlos del Junco, Sonny Terry (recorded lesson) and in workshops with Charlie McCoy, Lee Oskar, Steve Baker, Keith Dunn, Rick Estrin, Rick Epping, Adam Gussow amongst lots others - and thanks to all of them for the help which I now pass on to other students.
Performance wise, I have played in many blues bands, and different musical groups as well as performing solo and on cruise ships. I've played on the same bill as Larry Adler in 2000, jammed in concert with Jools Holland and had a long, hilarious and fascinating lunch with Billy Connolly showing him some harmonica techniques he wanted to know about.
Fine players of the harmonica include Big Walter, Little Walter, Sonny Terry, Sonnyboy Williamson Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder, Jason Ricci, Adam Gussow, Mick Jagger, Brian Jones, Magic Dick, Robert Plant, Steve Tyler, Taj Mahal, Kim Wilson, Charlie Musselwhite, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Reed, Larry Adler, Dave Gage, Furry Lewis, John Popper, John Sebastian, Neil Young, Bruce Willis, Sugar Blue, William Clarke, Paul Delay, Tom Ball, Mark Hummel, Jerry Portnoy, JJ Milteaux, Rod Piazza, Gary Primich, Rob Paparozzi, Joel Osborne, Shakira Starr, Alanis Morisette, Bono, David Bowie, Darth Vader, John Mayall, John Gindick, Jonny Mars, John Lennon, Allman Brothers, JP Allen.
Types of music to play to play on the harmonica: Blues, jazz, country, rock, bluegrass, folk, funk, classical, rock, hiphop, rnb, r and b, reggae, r'n'b
Makers: hohner, seydel, suzuki ,hering, sonnyboysmusicstore.co.uk
Models: Marine band, crossharp proharp crossover, big river, marine band deluxe, special twenty, special 20, pro-master, blues bender, golden melody, mostly Richter tuned.

I assume "heat treat" means this. Copper alloys work harden. This means that when it is shaped it gets harder and stiffer depending on how much it has been worked. Obviously this would affect tone. Heating it up after the work has been done would anneal it and leave the grain pattern perfectly even and consistent from piece to piece. Warmer? I don't know, but It would make it less stiff which make any resonant frequencies a bit lower.

Good point! Guilty as charged. This was meant as a review rather than a sales promotion - we didn't have any available to sell Goran. But since we have now decided to order some you can get them very soon. They are being despatched 12.11.19 from Korea so should be here in a week. They will be available from www.sonnyboysmusicstore.co.uk. We haven't done a listing yet but will do next week. Thanks for the heads up Goran! If you would like to reserve one you can email info@sonnyboysmusicstore.co.uk.

@@harmonicamastery My view - and it is my work - is that Dabell adopted the name Noble in bad faith. The legal situation is complicated, but that is not the main thing. The main thing is that if they aspire to becoming a respected brand, they should not do such a thing. It would help their image if they dropped the name. I cannot speak for Seydel's decisions, but note that anyone importing goods bearing an infringing name can get into big trouble. Another reason for Dabell to drop the name and not put aspiring distributors in possible harm's way. Let's be honest, who did not know 5 years ago that Noble was a flagship name of Seydel? Dabell states in their interview that they looked closely at Hohner. Anyway, it's a blemish on the Dabell story that might do them more harm than good.

@@jafconsidine Just in from the boss at Dabell - 'There were some talks about the name Noble on Facebook on Nov 13th in 2019. Harmonica Gear | Facebook And, here is my comment. My name is Benny Yoon, and I am the president of Dabell Harmonica. I see some arguments here on the name of our diatonic harmonica, Noble. I heard Seydel has used that name for a long time. To be honest, when I first came up with the names of Story and Noble and decided to use them, I didn’t know that. I guess I was so ignorant. I got to know about the name long after everything was set up for our harps. If I had known it, I wouldn’t have used it in the first place. I feel truly sorry if I offended any of you in any way. I didn’t mean to take any advange of it. Besides, I don’t think I can do that. I am pretty sure It won’t hurt Seydel’s business, either. Seydel is a big name in harmonica industry, and we are just a small new company. If we have to stop using it morally or legally, I will. Please check and let me know if you need any help from me. Thank you. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know without any hesitation. Thank you very much and Best regards, Benny Yoon President' Jerry if you have further questions please reach out to Benny direct, his email is on the Dabell website, and you will find him on Facebook.
