I remember Paul saying KDP keeps new designs on the first page for some time & if there is no progress it will gradually disappear from the first page. But so far it's still there. It’s time for me to leave a comment. I accidentally found your KDP introductory videos in December. I watched a few videos and was convinced to start my journey. I started my bookshelf in January 23’ and uploaded 60 books thanks to your suggestions. By February I got blocked for something about Content guidelines which I didn’t even understand. I watched your videos about that too. Luckily account was restored in 3 days. I’m back on track uploading daily but - super careful - but have enjoyed the ride. You are excellent at explaining KDP I wish you had other business adventures.

This is a fascinating niche I've never heard of! Didn't Amazon recently change its pricing for colour print books? I know to print in colour is much more expensive, reducing the profit unless you price really high.

Great video..... People are reporting many instances of KDP account closure by Amazon for using PD images in their paperbacks. Sometimes, they don't give an opportunity to provide proof for the usage rights. Don't know for sure whether this is the only reason, and there may be other reasons also which sometimes Amazon would not deign to reveal!!!! My question is whether it is a good practice to add a page/s at the end of the book that list/s the links to the licence pages of the images used. This way Amazon may not get miffed and red faced seeing PD images, but may project me as a bit inept and amateurish . Your opinion, please🙏.....

I think that sounds like a very reasonable way to approach the problem. A lot of people who use 'Public Domain' images unfortunatley don't check whether they actually are in the public domain and may be found on some of the big stock photo websites which causes issues with their accounts.

Regarding CreativeFabrica, is it legal to use those images? Is there any precautions should be taken? Thanks so much for your fantastic tutorials. It has been very helpful!

You suggested that Halloween could be a possible niche. I have a creative fabric subscription already. I went there and there were very limited options for collage papers. The Biodiversity library also has a disappointing option for a Halloween theme. Do you have any other recommendations? I did a search on Etsy but most do not provide a commercial license. Your videos are high quality.

I've just been to Creative Fabrica and done a search for vintage halloween and there seems to be quite a decent selection there. On flickr.com the british museum has a site which could have vintage halloween related images that may be in the public domain.

So i can use all biodiversity heritage library images from flickr without worrying about Copyright or attribution?

I haven't checked every image but I would check below each image just to double check that it is in the public domain. I think most, if not all are but I still check.

I've found the book covers printed by Amazon's POD to be excellent. The same as any book you'd find in a store.

Thanks for all the content. When I publish my cut out book, I get this error from Amazon. During our review, we found that the book format is not supported. KDP offers paperback and hardcover print formats. Content designed for other formats, such as wall-hanging calendars, magazines, periodicals, or spiral-bound books are not allowed. To prevent a negative customer experience, we will not be making the book available for sale on Amazon. Any idea why? Thanks

I saw a video of yours a couple of weeks ago that said you would look at a listing and be brutally honest on why it isn't selling (I can't find that video now). I am new to KDP and am in it for the long haul......I had an easter activity book done on Fiverr including the cover. I know we are still a little ways out from Easter but I decided to run an amazon ad to see if anyone is even clicking on it. I have had 97 impressions in the last few days without a single click or sale. I want to see if there is anything I could adjust in the listing since I can't really do anything with the book itself.

If you're getting impressions but no clicks it is usually because the cover is not attracting customers to click on it. Also 97 is a very small number to get any meaningful information. A good clickthrough rate can be around 0.5% and so you would only expect a click per 200 impressions.

@@paulmarles I'm actually having trouble specifically uploading the collage book and the spot the difference books. Every time I've uploaded them it says "failed manuscript upload". All of my simpler interiors have uploaded fine but the color graphics interiors I have not yet been able to upload. I did some research online and checked all of my images, made sure they are all PNG format but they still say "failed manuscript". And the covers upload fine, and I've used images from the interiors to create the covers but the manuscript keeps not uploading.

You have to charge more, that's why all these books are more expensive. In the video I show what the royalties are on one of these books, which looks pretty good.

I would leave these as colored. Some images are suited to black and white like old anatomy images.

please can you help me i recevied this message for each book low content or large content we noticed your book’s low-content classification was incorrect, so we corrected it. to publish your book, please 1) return to the “edit paperback/hardcover content” tab of your title setup, 2) update the “print isbn” option, and 3) re-submit your book. the low-content checkbox in the “categories” section of title setup should be selected if your book contains little or no interior content, such as a journal, notebook or planner. low-content books have different isbn and distribution options, so it’s important to classify them correctly. learn more about low-content books. where possible, we give pages numbers with examples. to make sure your entire book meets our guidelines, please review your entire manuscript file and fix all issues. to update book details, go to your kdp bookshelf. if you update your manuscript or cover, you'll have to upload the revised file to kdp. we'll review your book again to ensure it meets our requirements.

The two most common sizes aer 6x9" and 8.5x11". The types of books mentioned in this video are 8.5x11"

If you alter the images as shown in this video then you shouldn't need to show proof. But if you do then you would provide them with links to the pages where you obtained the images.

No. That option is more for written work as many people try to upload old books that are in the public domain. That's how I interpret it anyway!

The license is below the image and to the right - a circle with a c in it and a line through it and next to it a link that says public domain. I've not clicked on every image on the biodiversity heritage Flickr page so can't account for every image but everyone I've clicked on has it.

Hi, isnt it low quality paper which is suitable for normal story novels and doesnt do justice to Coloring Books. The paper isnt fit to be used as stickers or even coloring. There could be exceptions but children KDP titles are like drop in the ocean of thousands and thousands of titles

That was a scammer response. Ignore it. Don't quite understand your question. These are colored interiors. You can choose standard or superior quality. They are not coloring books or sticker books.

Very nice most of the Cut Out books that are on the best selling list seem to be from 2021 so this video is about 2 years late haha
