And the made two - the Peak and the Summit. Both utterly awesome.

If you want to learn your basic subtractive synthesis, this is a good beginners synth and the manual is really helpful to take you through the concepts. I've been able to recreate many classic fx and acid patches with it, but it still has its own unique sound. The killer feature is the frequency filter knob, it's way too much fun.

That is likely a patch created by Paul but similar Patches are available in the free Sound Banks that you can add to your Bass Station II via Components: components.novationmusic.com

I prefer to use Sylenth1 and NI Maschine - Sylenth has some amazing sounds and tons of add on sound packs available. I bought a Novation V Station ( VSTi ) - It asks for my activation code everytime I want to use it...meh. Sounds in are great, but a lot sound similar. The synth in the video looks and sounds cool but whats the price? - It's looks small enough to add to a live set-up, might be interested if there are no activation codes......

This is not a controller for a VST. It's an analog, hardware synthesizer. No computer hookup required. Therefore.. no activation codes.

Yep, he likes it. Infact I'd say he loves it. Paul's VERY British in terms of mannerisms, and comes from the south east, where people are generally more reserved anyway. We're just masters of understatement as a nation, and don't applause and holler at everything here at the drop of a hat. Culturally, in my personal experience, some Americans don't understand this, we can be like chalk and cheese in that respect. No better or worse, just different. It's a small island and things would get kind of noisey if we allowed ourselves to get excited about everything... He definitely likes it though. I saw Orbital on tour three times in 2018, four years after this video was recorded, and the Bass Station II was there on one of the synth racks on stage at the end of every gig, well cabled up with the rest of the rig. They also had a Prophet, a Peak, a MatrixBrute and an Access Virus (Ti, I think), from memory.

Odd, I've never broken a single key or had any bad contacts on any of my Novation (or Arturia) gear. Some of it's twenty years old.
