Can we just appreciate how this midi controller changed lives of an entire generation? haha
“KillTheRobot” is such a unique name that it is hard to forget even after so many years. Always come back to this video once every few months.
Gosh use to bump this when I was 12...Hot summer, minecraft, biking with firends. That was life.

It's funny because now my whole life is directed towards finding these same feelings. We're just circling around trying to come back to the way of life we already had
This gave me a brief moment of euphoria. Sent me back to the days I used to actually enjoy life.

Oh my goodness. This video nearly brought tears to my eyes. I cant believe ive had my launchpad s for a year. And this was the first song I ever played on it. Thank you novation, for your amazing equipment and the memories you gave me.
Hi, Just select your clip and open Clip Overview. Click on the L to expose Launch settings and change Launch Mode from Trigger to Gate. Repeat for each clip you want to play in this way.
Absolutely phenomenal. Great job, very creative and thank you Ableton for showing us how he does it as well. Greatest company ever.
Disclaimer: Skill level required to play like this not included.

This song always puts me in a good mood and gives me energy!! Wish there was a long version of this. I Would buy.
and thats how the hype begun
AND STILL 80 Downvotes?! Wow! This is one of the nicest performance I've ever seen on a launchpad. Wish I could double thumb up the video!

How is the main synth pad taking a side chain signal from the drums? I really want to know how to do that, because it is great for Live performances.
Does no one appreciate this guys skills!? This takes incredible co-ordination to do! Well Done!
I really like the melody in which this guy has made. And not only that but this song should downloaded onto the launchpad app so that others who want to learn that dont have a launchpad could play this song. Well done Novation.
nice bro!

i love launchpad
You don't understand how addictive this is, I just can't stop listening.
Awesome performance, and wonderful song! A bit reminds me an opening theme of a racing video game of the early '90s. Good memories...
Good shit...good times
Jesus... I'd have to practice for months to play one of these things that well...

Brodo Swaggins You're not looking closely enough. I'm not talking about simply laying down a groove and "making music." Look at the finger independence and precision this guy is demonstrating. That takes real skill and practice. You think you can do what this guy is doing? Put up a video and prove it. Because I'm pretty sure you can't get close

Brodo Swaggins You wouldn't expect me to understand? And what exactly do you know of my musical background? Frankly, your comments make you look like a braggart and arrogant prat more than anything else. I'm a classically trained, professional musician myself. Your marks in theory are laudable, but playing this or any other instrument has next to nothing to do with theoretical knowledge and everything to do with motor skills, practice, and muscle memory. Your 4.0 in theory won't help you one bit to pick up a violin and play a Paganini Caprice. So, I think what this guy does in this video is quite amazing for the dexterity and ability that he shows. I'm virtually certain that despite your claims of how "easy" you find this to play, you could not get anywhere near this level of proficiency without quite a bit of dedicated practice. Of course the beauty of KZread is that you could always show me just how easy it is for you.

Exactly, with Launchpad there is no logic what button makes what sound so even if you've played for let's say 5 years you still need to practise every single song seperately.
@jedmanivx

Yeah i just got one three days ago. It's not the launchpad that does any of it. It's the program and to master the program will take me al very long time. Even more so the launchpad itself...same time it will take me to learn a piano or keyboard. It's fun and gives you something to do tho :P

I think he has practiced a lot and recognize the different buttons, and maybe it isn't that dark there so he can still see the buttons, and then done a dark effect in a editing program on PC/Mac/Linux, or the camera is a little weird, my camera is that too… It makes my video tapes look so dark.
@MeeJaysNet
10 жыл бұрын
I think he can see, because the extinct buttons, but the camera can't see them because the objective isn't enough sensitive. I have the same result when I made a mashup (But I don't use the Launchpad like that)
that was the most neat launchpad setup i have ever seen

THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL
MIND BLOWING FACT: This guy is KillTheRobot.
Where did the tutorial/behind the scenes video of this go? I was just looking at it yesterday and it was fantastic, finally showed me how to use my launchpad the way I wanted to!
INCREDIBLE. you sir are a genius
how amazing
I just love the fact that nobody else is as good as him at this song smooth and flows compared to other ppl choppy and messy
nice sound!
Its just sounds from the actual track linked into the launchpad, when you press the button it reacts by playing the sound linked to it. they are a little complicated for people who have never used them but if your used to them they are actually quite easy.
Wow.. I love it!!!
oh my goodness, 4 years ago, how time flies!!!!
Im in love with the song
Yes the launchpad is compatible with logic 9 you can use it as a midi controller
HI, Both Launchpads will have the same functionality, but there will be different functions within the software depending on the version of Ableton you have.
OMG very so good sound!!
Haha, I'll make sure of that next time. I did look at the differences and realized that not much about it is different. I'm looking forward to using it :)
Thank you! It's a really good track, I love it
I'm getting one next month!
AWESOME SONG. i like this i might be getting this device now
