First time listening and I’m loving it. Reminds me of a chemically fuelled teenage years.
i would have to say this is the bast jam of the Novation Circuit videos i have seen course ur other videos are rad too thanks for videos cheers and be safe
I'm so happy for the circuit. It is so versatile and can pull off whatever you need all in a compact box. It takes less than 30 seconds sometimes to get a full groove out of nowhere. I wish I had four of them!

Do you know how daisy-chaining 2 of them works? Do you connect via MIDI to out and in? If so, can you still sequence 2 external synths on each of them? How would you go about doing this since there is only one MIDI port, and as far as I know, MIDI Thru boxes are too limited for this. I have a 1-in 4-out and that's it. I'm interested in the extra layers by getting 2 to sequence my Volcas and Minilogue but I don't want to run myself into a corner. Thanks
I want more videos of you jamming. I love you video style, but this track is awesome. Or as the kids say, it slaps.
great demo & track, and really nicely produced video, good work bo!

Thank you Jeff! I hope you find it as much fun as I have. My general philosophy when I sit down with it is to just see where I end up. Unlike with computer setup I try not to think and just jam away.
Amazing
Great performance and demo! Shows the power and flexibility of the Circuit. Since I already have plenty of hardware, I do not need the Circuit’s internal sounds. Trying to decide between this and two more Keysteps which I can sync and MIDI to my existing gear. I realize the Circuit does more, but the Keysteps have longer sequences, an arp, and a nicer keyboard. Hmmm... 🤔
Wish it wasn't upside down, but thanks for making it and sharing

Awesome
LMAO watching this older video... I am trying so hard to make my Circuit sound like this and you make it look so easy! I wil get there though.. I have no doubt.. I just need to let go of my "OLD SCHOOL" way of thinking and approach to all this new Tech! I know this is an older Video .. but +1 like from your NW FL Friend... BTW: This Friday Morning consists of watching BoBeats Vids.. Me playing with my Circuit and BS II all the while staring at my MiniNova.. and having my 2nd French Press of Coffee.. Could there be a BETTER Day I ask .. Nooooo there couldn't ;)

Your Jams are good as always. So I'm back to ask again (sorry) is the headphone cable a standard 1/8th to 1/8th and finally, is the cable bottom right of Zoom the H2 power adapter? :) Thanks

This is a standalone synth. You can always check my Circuit Review / If you should buy. It has 2x synths with 6 polyphony and 4 sample channels. You can load whatever samples you want to the 4 sample channels.

And its prob a stupid ? but what do you mean load samples... iv never used any controller or anything is this a good one to get. Is it easy to learn? Thanks so much
@PearLock
7 жыл бұрын
Yes, it's easy to learn. I just got one today, not knowing how to use it. Found a 7 part tutorial on KZread, and by the end of the day, I was doing a PERFECT cover of M83's Run Into Flowers. Damn near note for note. It's a great one to get. And samples are snipets of audio, from any source, that you can use via midi.

To be honest, you barely need a tutorial. It's fairly instinctive, if that's the right word.
@BoBeats

I think that it can be hard for some, depending on your background. If you havnt worked with step sequencers it can take a while to get used to it. But its not hard by any means. You will eventually get your head around it. Its not an Elektron box.
Too sequencer based for me to buy one. Wanting a synth thing for companion to Roland sp404sx, maybe Yamaha Reface or just. Microkorg.
@BoBeats
7 жыл бұрын
Yeah it's very sequencer based for sure. Not something I use much as a standalone unit.

Hello Bo, nice work! How did you sort your samples? Did you sort the synth patches and are your makro buttons al with the same functions? 🤔 😀
@BoBeats
7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Enrico! In this video I use the preset synth sounds (don't remember which) and they have different macro setups. The samples are also standard/preset.
@ricorusso9458
7 жыл бұрын
BoBeats and in general? Do have a Tip for using the macros efficient?
@BoBeats
7 жыл бұрын
I usually go something like this: 1 Macro for Cut off, 1 for resonance (standard for filter tweaking). Then I go one for decay so I can shorten notes/make them longer. One for chorus. One for distortion. then the last three I often use for different LFO-modulations. If you check my Circuit editor tutorials you can see I often modulate using the LFO in some way, even cross modulate.

BoBeats thanks, this will help me a lot. I used the top row for ADSR and i had in mind that this was not the best decision.
What is the zoom H2 for? Forgive my Noob ignorance but I don't know what you're doing with it. Is it your audio interface or are you just recording the whole thing?

Hello Bo, big fan and have been for a while now... Great gig here on the circuit. When I got mine I thought it was more like a toy. Sounded somewhat dull and simple with the sounds that were build in, you proved me wrong, it does sound awesome.... I just don't know how to use it properly... (shame on me) I should put some more time into it I guess. Do you have a better tutorial for beginners, Bo ? Have a nice weekend or as I always say H.A.N.W Adriaan Laurijsen

Thanks bud! Most of my tutorials are old by now. I have a jam callef ”Alcohol” which can be inspirational.
if you don't use a daw would this even be worth buying, already have mfb tanzmaus and tanzbar but the are hard to use at times, got volca beats and bass, tr-9, drm1, and a old drumtracks. I got a thing for drum machines but I rarely use software.

I think that the Circuit is real fun! You wont get the sound quality of say a more expensive synth or drum module but since you got that covered already I think this might be fun for you. The limitations of the device is also its strengths. Just so fast and easy to use. Sure not as deep as say my Elektron stuff. But never mind that when it is so fast!

@@BoBeats it may not have the depth but it can be a sequencer for analog kit... also, with one minute of sample time you can get a personal sound/signature. Personally I love it for its abstract, glitch, motion madness and nice effects. Yet what I think is really important is the polyphonic synth, and TWO of them!!!! Having that gives so much more potential than the endless mono synths out there. Real great price especially second hand. A lot of people buy them but get bored with them, but they also come to life with a midi keyboard... blah blah blah...!
Shit the bed! It changes key😱😍👍
