What makes Djokovic great is he finds a way to win even when he doesn't play his best. He adapts and changes the tempo during matches and somehow swing the momentum back to him during the most important points. Only the great ones can do that at will.

Novak's composure is really amazing to watch. Matteo's tenacity is also commendable, he really gave it all. Such a good finals.

Yes, Novak’s coolness in the extreme pressure moments, is what separates him. Take for example, the Shapovalov match, they were probably playing at very similar levels in terms of tennis and shot making, possibly even Denis playing at a higher quality. In the end though, Djokovic just played so well on the big points. And now he is 20 grand slam titles. Extraordinary…

If I had to pick, I'd say Nole has the highest chance in winning. From the incompetent Next-Gen, I'd say maybe Medvedev.

Tennis is a simple game. Two players hit a ball over the net for a couple of hours, and in the end, Novak Djokovic always wins.

@@mbucd not true, i can't remember the last time the crowd was cheering equally on any GS ehen Novak plays and i don't think there ever was a moment when they cheered for Novak more than the opponent at any point even as an underdog. They hate him because he destroyed the rivalry of Nadal and Federer he came in as the 3rd weel and took the trone and started beating them, watch a match between Federer and Nadal the crowd is wild for both of them always. He is the best plsyer in the world and of all time but he has the least amount of cheering than any other n1 before him.

I am glad that media doesn’t like Djokovic. He is never under pressure. Look what they did to Felix Auger- Alliassime with their expectations and even to Andy. They called Dimitrov Baby Federer! It's already been closed for a third of tennis fans, and for the other two thirds, it may as well stay unclosed, because fanboying Fedal just goes too far. Nole proved himself by overcoming everything they threw at him. Hope he wins the Olympic gold and USO and seals their mouths shut.

Novak is the one of the best returners in tennis. However, he was struggling against Berrettini’s serve in the 1st set. But, once he figured out how to return Berrettini’s serve by the end of 1st set, then the rest is history. This is ADAPTABILITY.

Djokovic already beat the Italian in the French Open. He didn't need to 'figure out' how to return his serve.

In just ten years, Djokovic completely dominated the golden era of Tennis and won everything against the top players. He shattered all records and he won more than Roger and Rafa COMBINED. Compared that to Djokovic and Federer and I don't understand why people can even think he's the GOAT. im a nadal fan but admit Novak is the GOAT because there is no way that rafa wins more slams than him at this point, novak is just simply much better at this point of their careers. This man inspires me so much

I have been a fan of Novak's for a number of years now but I swear the more time passes, the more I friggin' LOVE this dude! I root for him every single match and tournament he plays. I'm so impressed by his mental fortitude and am beyond thrilled that he has won 3 grand slams this year to quickly close the gap between him and the other big 2. Closing that gap from 17 to 20, literally could have taken several years but my man, Djoker, says, "nah, I think I'll do it in half a year". Wow! Just wow! May he get that 4th grand slam this year and shine in his greatness!

Not yet. He needs one more GS to become GOAT. Right now Roger's and Nadal's fans still can argue how all three of them are equally great. 21st GS should be full stop! Regarding Nadal, he definitelly will do everything to stop Novak reaching his goal. Forget Federer, he is too old for another GS win. His prime has gone.

@@mbucd Alright but Fed is not catching up anymore, since he's nearing retirement and he doesn't have it in him. Nadal still could, but he would have to pull off something miraculous to exceed Nole at this point. He'd need to win the ATP finals and the AO next year.

The best, most complete tennis player in history. He will hold the record for the most grand slam wins and get a calendar Slam this year. He’ll probably do a Rod Laver and achieve it twice

@@b1lagich829 no he hasn't. The closest was Wimbledon 2015-FO 2016 but those are not the same calendar years. No one has ever done calendar year grand slam since Graf in 1988 and Djokovic has the chance to repeat that + Olympics, like Graf exactly did

Novak switched to single backhand he has zero slam, Fed switched to double backhand he has +40 GS

More slams in the last decade than Fedal combined. He has a superior H2H against both of them, is more consistent than each of them across the 3 surfaces, and looks like he will stay at the top longer than them. He may not be as beautiful to watch as Federer or as dynamic and intense as Nadal, but he's a relentless, efficient winning machine with incredible mental strength and an ability to withstand difficulties like no other. He is the GOAT now, no denying it any more.
