    I just have to wonder. What do his coaches actually tell him? They walk up to him several times in this video and talk to him with a facial expression that makes it look like he's doing something wrong. He's the number 1 in the world and one of the most accomplished players ever, what could anyone have to say to him? I'm always so curious about that

  • @rubikswu

    @rubikswu

    7 жыл бұрын

    I think the coaches for the top ATP players don't teach them the specific mechanics, but how to play the point. Watching a point play out on the sidelines is very different from what the player sees. So the coaches might say like be more aggressive on the backhand side or like change up the pace on the 3rd ball. That's my speculation, anyway. :P

  • @charmeleon10

    @charmeleon10

    7 жыл бұрын

    +rubikswu Well yes I never guessed the pro players needed help swinging their rackets, even I'm past that. Most of the insight my coach gives me is how to play the point, yes, but there's obviously such a HUGE gap between me and Djokovic, that just watching him play makes me feel like he doesn't need any help at all anymore. But you're probably right :P

  • @abujabi

    I think his coach boris is like "hey Djokovic you're doing great, keep doing what you're doing and don't forget to pay my $1million salary check next week"

  • @noriega78

    @noriega78

    7 жыл бұрын

    Even the pro needs someone to tell them what's wrong. From a technical point of view. But it's mostly tactic and mental the coach brings

  • @cooldude2399

    @cooldude2399

    7 жыл бұрын

    That skill gap doesn't necessarily mean his coaches don't fulfill the same role. Remember, his opponents and your opponents have as great a skill gap, and with that comes a greater strategic ability and more well defined playstyles / strengths or even weaknesses. And even the tiniest kinks in their game matter so much more than the tiniest in yours. So yeah.
