Mr. Djokovic is an inspiration to those threaten by the loss of a job, education, or travel restrictions. In June of 2021, I lost a 49-year-old cousin, a man preparing to go on a Hawaiian honeymoon with his second wife, a man who had a fatal heart attack due to a massive blood clot. Travel to Hawaii was very restrictive, authorities demanding vaccination or a ridiculous testing regime. I am sure my cousin complied and now he is gone. Then I lost another cousin within 6-months, a cousin who "died suddenly." Then there were two otherwise healthy women, women who regularly attend my gym's spinning classes. 4-months ago, one discontinued her workout mid-way, hurrying to the women's locker room be cause she felt like vomiting, she actually experiencing a heart attack. We advised her to immediately seek medical attention and she relented. Later that evening she had a stent installed to relieve a LAD blood-clot, eventually a pacemaker. A few weeks ago it was sadly announced that the other woman past away Easter of a fatal heart attack due to a blood clot. Although these women were not gym rats, they were both the picture of health. Many would suggest these are mere coincidences, but I have never witnessed anything like this before. Finally, another woman, in the same gym class, boasted that she had received her second booster. I said nothing, all I can do is pray. Dear God.

If you choose to get vaccinated, I respect you. If you choose not to get vaccinated, I respect you. Your body, your decision. It's as simple as that.

I don't respect any one who gets vaccinated but it is still your choice to get it or not and no one else at all why I don't respect them because they don't know what they are doing to their body but I respect those that don't get vaxxed they see how horrible things it is and they don't give into those pressure of getting vaxxed it should be a personal decision and not to be forced into it

Amen my wife and about lost our jobs and many people who thoughtbof as good friends completely blocked us out of their lives because of all the lies that were told about this pandemic. It had my mother and father begging us to get vaccinated but we did the research and decided for ourselves not to take it, not saying we're right or others to do the same but we stood our ground and we both had covid just like about everyone we knew and most was fully vaccinated. We were fine i believe cause we take care of ourselves with a good diet and vitamin D3 and C. Ultimately its up to you is how i look at it.

@Mac Everyone physiology is different some people thrive on a non meat diet and others do not. There are extremes at either end of the spectrum who cannot eat meat and the opposite who need an all meat diet to survive. As long as the meat doesn't contain hormones and steroids and isn't processed it will generally be a good addition to a diet.

Regarding cows, human beings can't eat grass but cows can they're able to turn many plants into muscle because of their unique bovine physiology. Political consequences of not being vaccinated tell you everything. Vaccines for Covid 19 are experimental, not safe ( no one manufacturer is willing to take responsibility for the side effects of vaccines, ), not working, requiring more and more boost doses, no reliable statistical data, and yet, non- vaccinated people ,for whatever reason, are punished and discriminated against.

Tennis isn’t my sport, no interest in following it; but lots of respect for this man. There are some athletes that have gotten the vaccine so they can compete and then have become debilitated by heart issues. I think everyone needs to make their own decisions for their own bodies and he was polite and stood by his decision.

I am not anti vaxx at all but I didn’t take the covid vaccine for many reasons. I have so much respect for Djokovic and what he was prepared to lose and actually did lose in order to stay true to himself. I wasn't antivax. The whole covid jab thing made me antivax. Lost trust in medical "experts" (among others). Why trust them anymore if they just showed us that they were willing to betray society to not lose their jobs. I don't trust them anymore and on the flipside: i found trust in my own immune system, in eating healthy, in exercising, in some simple supplements and in some few select people who don't recommend injecting me with needles.

I know families of people who have died of other things not related to COVID, to have health professionals state on death certificates that they had died of COVID, which was not true. Please explain how dieing if a heart attack is COVID!! Nobody is denying the fact COVID is real, however that doesn't mean everything 'they' tell you to inject into your body is right for every individual. Health is personal not public.

To a degree I agree…and I have huge respect for Novak. However, Novak has the ‘resources’ and backing to support himself and his loved ones no matter how ‘they’ try to sanction and penalise him…and whether or not he ever plays in another competition he will always be recognised as a world leader in his sport…and rightly so…he has earned his status through hard work and commitment to his sport. That said, spare a thought for those of us (the ‘average’ ones) who have stood our ground while being robbed of incomes, careers, homes, education, social inclusion, friends, family and loved ones…many of us have been vilified and horribly vindictively treated and left with next to nothing…and many of us have no resources to fall back on. I’m a stage iv cancer survivor…I’ve fought to stay alive…these toxic jabs have the very real potential to cause cancer recurrence so I said a firm “no” to them…I was accused of serious misconduct by my utterly disloyal employer, treated like a criminal, stood down for a month without pay and when I still said “no” they fired me…from a job I loved and was damn good at and had worked long and hard to achieve. As a Counsellor and Suicide Crisis Supporter I’ve had the privilege of giving a great deal back and have contributed to saving lives…yet when it came to protecting my own life, in light of a very serious medical history, I’m fired! Just because I don’t play tennis or any other high profile sport, just because no one knows my name, doesn’t mean I haven’t had to draw upon any less strength and resilience to keep going…in fact I’ve likely had to withstand more pressure due to having nothing like the ‘safety net’ high profile folk like Novak enjoy. We all have our story huh?

Novak is a true champion and a courageous man. He is honest and principled. He is my tennis hero.

My god this as aged well for Novak.

This guy became a HERO for half of the world. We look up to him and support him.

"Why Novak, why?" Journalism has become a strong propaganda movement, unfortenately. More and more journalists are seeing it as ethical to guide viewers into conclusions that are similar or even identical to those of journalists' views themselves.

If Novak had told him that he was transitioning to a woman and was getting a procedure to change his genitalia, I guarantee you that he would never have asked (in that feigning ignorance voice) "Why Novak, way"? He would have immediately understood what bodily sovereignty means. Hypocrites!

I agree on your point about the media in general, but I think this interviewer's response was fair. Novak just said that he would be willing to forego being the greatest player of all time just to avoid the vaccine! To me, that doesn't add up. I know it's a matter of principle, but it's an astonishing price to pay just to keep a principle. After all, what evil has befallen those who have taken the vaccine? >99% of those who did are just fine. The risk/reward ratio just doesn't add up to me. Nevertheless, I can see that he's a much better man than me, most of us just think differently to him, and find his reasoning rather illogical. I would've responded the same way as that journalist.

Who knew...Novak's balls where bigger than tennis balls.

He should ask the interviewer if HE, took the vaccine, and WHY??

I'm shocked by how another human being can be so shocked to hear that someone stands by their principals with conviction. I'm also inspired by how Novak is unflinching in his resolve. Beautiful.

It's not really a principle, it's a whim, that's why we are shocked. If it was principle then he would refuse stuff injected into his body that is much more controversial than vaccines. Unless I am mistaken and Novak was never operated on? Never got an anesthetics? The point is the arbitrariness of his decision. He has the right to have his whims, but usually we tolerate other people's whims at best, mock them at worst. Reporter is far from mocking him, he is just incredulous, but other people are actually praising him for it. An upside world we live in.

Bojan Dolinar: There is nothing 'arbitrary' about refusing a medical procedure one doesn't need. There are certain medical procedures that are clearly necessary and whose benefits clearly outweigh any potential risks. The Covid jab is not one of them- not for Djokovic anyway. He has already had the virus twice and has natural antibodies.

I support Novak. The fact that he is willing to give up potential championship titles because he stands by his principles speaks volumes. He has now become my favourite tennis player

I salute him for choosing his health over the championship competition. In my book he is a winner and he just proved it again this month that he is the best.
