NOVA SCOTIA Motorcycle Tour - September 2023

Brier Island is the farthest west you can go in Nova Scotia and has been on my list of 'furthest points' for quite a while. This video is a very brief summary of a most delightful trip exploring the shores of the Bay of Fundy and the western end of Nova Scotia. Nothing dramatic here. No stunt riding. No wheelies. Not even a single roadside breakdown. Just a gentle amble along quiet roads on a huge great bike.

    I've found if I take enough pictures and footage, some tiny fragments are likely (if I'm lucky( to be useful. The time-absorber is finding the decent bits.

    Hi Nick I noticed that the quality of this video is exceptional. Great narration, beautiful associated pictures. I also enjoy the history behind the places you ride. It's makes a very enjoyable lesson for me as we ride along. There are plenty of different topics and subjects. I just finished reading your recent book Adventures On Borrowed Time and found it one of your best for similar reasons. Thanks Nick Cheers TT

    Great video of my home Province Nick ! I stayed in Digby many times ...camping with the family when I was a child and years later with my own family when the kids were the same age as I was when I camped there . A funny story I will never forget....we were camping when I was a child and we had a corn boil happening in a large pot over a fire . I thought of the cartoons I watched as a kid and there was always a witch that was cooking a witches brew in a big pot . The witch would always lift the lid and take a sniff of the brew she was making and at that corn boil I thought I would lift the lid and take a sniff . I inhaled through my nose strongly as I lifted the lid and the hot steam thoroughly burnt the inside and outside of my nose ...big-time ! Memories eh ?

    There's nothing funny about hot steam. I hope it didn't take too long to recover.

    Having grown up in the Annapolis Valley I love that someone from Ontario can say “The Valley” and everyone knows where you are talking about as if it’s the only valley that exists. Brier Island has always been one of my favourite spots to visit. The road on Long Island is a gem, even if it isn’t very long. Cheers!

    Haha. Yep. The Ottawa Valley does have that status (whether deserved or not). I didn't include much footage of your valley, but the mist hanging in those field and the fruit trees and vinyards were truly lovely.

    Nick great video. thank you. When crossing on a small ferry i put my bike on the side stand and sit on it to keep it from toppling over. This seems to be the least unnerving. Do you have any recommendations?

  • @nick949eldo

    @nick949eldo

    10 ай бұрын

    I usually do the same Dave. Also, I leave it in first gear to limit any chance of it rolling forwards. If it's calm I'll get off and walk around, but it depends on conditions. On large ferries I strap the bike down as if it were on a trailer or flatbed so it can't move, no matter how rough.
