Gascoigne should have been red carded which obviously would have been to Tottenham's detriment but ironically the changes required seem to enforce Spurs determination particularly in the second half. As for the match itself, Forest deservedly took the lead with a fantastic freekick which doesn't get the same recognition as Gazzas in the semi despite that it was equally as good. Linekers goal should have stood & the penalty was stonewall but what a save from Crossley . As a Spurs fan I felt for Clough but Tottenham's need to win was greater in respect of the club's financial turmoil.

@annandune2 ай бұрын
Gascoigne should have been sent off twice. Each of those 'tackles' was worthy of a red on its own. The fact he was stretchered off changed everything as the whole narrative changed from him being a villain to a victim. It just gets worse from there. The Forest free-kick should not have stood because Glover pushed a Spurs player out of the exact spot where Pearce placed it for his goal. The first Spurs goal was onside but I think the second one was offside by the rules of the day, so they got one they shouldn't have had and were denied one they should have had. As a Forest fan, the whole thing left a bit of a sour taste by the end of it. And yes, still salty after all these years.

Lineker comfortably onside for equalizer
Psycho Pearce, Brian Clough, Gazza lunging in, Lineker poaching and diving. Love the 90s
Gascogne should of been sent off in the first minute and deserved that injury that fucked up his career if your going to go around putting dirty challenges in like he did then expect to get what u intend to give out 👊
Seems unreal that we once were allowed to enjoy winning something!..😫😫
What a pisser for des walker, after a great italia 90!
What was that linesman thinking of. Clearly he waits until Lineker moves forward, then he raises his flag.

Shocking decision, he was way onside
Linekers goal was miles ONSIDE
This just shows how important VAR is

I was 12 and watched this live. Probably my favourite cup final tie and I was a neutral. Had everything. Excitement. Drama. And man you can never beat the atmosphere in those days. The old Wembley ❤
Lineker's goal was onside, it should have stood. Great save by Crossely from the penalty. Gazza's tackle was poor. Often wonder what would have happened had he not injured himself commiting it? Could have been his final? 🤔

Linekers goal was definitely onside, very poor decision by the linesman. It was a silly tackle by Gazza, should have never done it.
I was there, 9 years old, down the front, couldnt see a thing..old wembley had terrible views..glad we one, despite the terrible lino!
Gascoigne could have been sent off for kicking Gary Parker in the chest in the first few minutes but should definitely have been sent off for the foul on Gary Charles.

Gazza could have been sent off for the high boot on Gary Charles. He definitely got away with it, being a big name in the English football he got away with it

I agree clearly onside, the linesman got it totally wrong. I’m glad it didn’t cost Spurs at the end.
Lineker a mile onside there unlike today of course.
What a goal from Gazza! Wowsers. As for Seaman, a bit harsh. He got the touch, the ball was just a little too strong to hold on.

Wrong game that was the semi final game vs arsenal, it was a brilliant free kick by Gazza. Seaman had no chance saving it.
