With Arsenal beating Tottenham 3-2 in the North London derby earlier in the day, it was essential that Pep Guardiola’s men picked up three points at the City Ground.
And in the manager’s 300th Premier League game in charge, goals from Josko Gvardiol and Erling Haaland, one in each half, ensured victory for the Blues.
With celebrity fan Noel Gallagher watching on in the stands, Gvardiol headed home his second top-flight goal of the campaign after an impressive corner by Kevin De Bruyne.
And KDB set up Haaland for the second, playing in the top-flight’s leading goalscorer for his 21st of the campaign.
It was a hard-fought win, against a brave and bold Forest side, and an important one as we continue to battle the Gunners for the crown.

Ortega and Oscar Bobb are mind-blowing. I'm not pretending being Pep, but i think the start XI with Bobb ( LW )- Foden ( CAM )- KDB ( CAM )-Doku ( RW ) will be a goal fest.

Grealish is definitely better on the left wing than Bobb. Our issue is the right side, as Doku cannot really play there and neither can Bobb. Then we have to play Foden or Silva who do a lot better central. This is one of the reasons why Haaland scores less goals this year - we don't have players for fast transitions so it's been basically a siege tactic this season where Haaland tries to occupy two CBs and has very little space to score

The people talking about how bad Haaland has been, were the same people losing their heads last year when he was entertaining us by breaking the Premier League with stunts in front of goals. Show some appreciation, players go through drought spells. Alvarez is good, but is just as susceptible to being overworked; even legendary Aguero had his poor spells. You'll never have a Haaland like you had in his first season. The boy is still young, he is evolving and developing other parts of his game. Can't be a goal poacher for life. He'll get there, and hopefully he is still at City, because he is a big brand name you can't afford to lose so soon.

People just feel ok by talking anyhow so leave them, how he worked hard in his season people shouldn't speak the way they speak to him when he was underperforming. But those who says Hossana was the same people that says crucified him even Jesus the Lord suffered in the hands of people let alone Haaland so is somehow normal but I know he will always prove them wrong.

He has been out for 3 months with injury but still tops the goal scoring charts. The argument that Haaland is a liability is just dumb. He scores a goal a game, he creates space for others to score, he defends the back post. So what if he only touches the ball 10 times in a game. Bobby Firmino touched the ball 50 times a game on average for Liverpool I would guess but only scored 9 goals a season. I know which of the 2 I would prefer in my team

Not in our usual best but we get results, that is what the blues do... Given the injuries and fatigue, I'd say we privileged to have young talented hungry lads like J. Gvardiol, Doku, Alvarez and Bobb... Of course DE Bruyne so effective and getting sharper and sharper by the games

It must be quite an asset to have a senior player who enjoys assisting more than scoring. KDB admitted in one of his interviews he prefers assists over goals. That spirit of being selfless and shine at the same time is De Bruyne specialty. You can see it throughout this City team even youngsters are learning it. When you watch teams like United, Chelsea and even Liverpool of late you witness a lot of individualism not team work.

KDB will and always will be the biggest and best player at Man City. Foden is having his best season ever yet somehow KDB has stats of 6 goals and 15 assists in 21 games this season after coming back from a long injury. Next season he will be 100% fit. He is and will always be the king

No bad striker scores 36 goals in one (debut) PL season. Actually, you need to be slightly above average.. People say its "just because his team mates are so good at serving him". Well, that team concept is kind of a big deal in fotball. And a striker is there to finish. Its not been as good a season as last, but following up with a new season as top scorer under that kind of pressure is mental. The amount of down talk he's been getting is absurd.

i feel like Doku should be guided more , though its his first season , i think he should be sturdy and not fall down all the time , and increase his ball control and shooting he will be phenomenal , i have to wait for next season and see how he might develop
