A look at Nottingham Council House Clock on Friday 16th October 2015.
The Council House was designed by Thomas Cecil Howitt and built between 1927 and 1929 in the Neo-Baroque style characterised by the huge pillars that circle the building along with the carvings on the facade. It replaced the former Nottingham Exchange.
The clock was built William Cope with the bells manufactured by John Taylor and Co of Loughborough. The hour bell is known as 'Little John'. At 10 tons, 7 cwt and 27 lb in weight (the 5th heaviest in the UK), the bell has the deepest tone in the country.

The 4th chime into it the bell sounds like it struggles but lovely sound it has came here for Xmas market and heared them for my self

Really? Where did you learn that from?!
That hour bell if I"m not mistaken is larger than Big Ben and has a deeper voice to it. If I remember correctly it filled in for Big Ben while Big Ben was silenced for repairs to the clock tower...

The sound of the 4 quarter bells Is very reminiscent of the chime of the Burton Tower Carillon at the university of Michigan. If I'm not mistaken that carillon is a Taylor.

Little John is in Eb. Liverpool's Great George is deeper (it's in Db) and the Olympic Bell is deeper (in B I think).
I went there on the 1st September in 2021.
I like the sound of the bells and I like the clock

Ok this isn’t better than big ben’s. But like- thats so beautiful. Chimes start at 0:36 By the way

In a way, yes. The bells are similarly arranged in the belfry as Big Ben

That’s because it’s the same notes to play the Westminster chime just not in the same octave and tone

Most big clocks use that tune. It’s the Westminster Quarters, but that doesn’t limit it to Westminster.

You'll find the chimes on every westminster grandfather or mantel clocks, and this is also in the UK
