It's a far fetched claim that robots or AI can replace people in taking care of other people. We do not just seek intelligence, we seek a social connection that requires others to be equal to ourselves on a whole different level that AI is very far from reaching. It might eventually happen in a few hundred years, but so far all AI is, is a large but extremely simple neural network. It can generate images and sentences. Saying AI will replace caretakers is like saying forklifts will replace the people that maintain forklifts

Meaning that the more you replace humans with robots the less jobs available with an ever growing populace with no signs of slowing down is counterintuitive! More people and less jobs makes for an unstable economy and offsets the wealth of a nation as a result. Not all jobs can be nor should they be done by either automation or robots.

Modern tech will always influence, partly replace jobs. This is nothing new - only the scale could be somewhat new and bigger.

Until there's sufficient battery technology these robots will have to remain plugged in. We're years away from being able to even power these things outside.

With all the processing powers, it's funny that robots never replace bankers, scientist, teachers etc and always replace to lower income jobs.

Teachers were replaced by television 70 years ago, and science was replaced by ignorance around the same time. Digital banking will replace the bankers, so low-income jobs will be all that's left by 2030.

The funny thing is, with the pace of AI development, the jobs you've mentioned will be replaced way faster than menial jobs that would require extremely advanced robotics.

We shouldn't be designing robots to look like humans, they all just look really creepy and horrible that way. Instead, we should make them look like cute fuzzy animals. It'd be much easier for them to bypass the Uncanny Valley [especially if they're stylized/cartoony looking], and they'll be way more approachable.

Corporations are already hell bent on doing this with trains. Imagine a mile long hazmat train that glitches or is hacked, barreling down on your town or city, and being used as a missle or bomb. The results will be catastrophic. If we can't keep a car dealership computer system safe from hackers, how do you expect to keep an automated train safe?
