The only constant in a sailor's life is change, and after months exploring some of the most wild and remote gems of the South Pacific, it was finally time to switch things up a bit. We're about to trade isolation for big city livin' on French Polynesia's largest and most iconic island, Tahiti. But mother nature has some other plans for us, and the playgrounds and juicy cheeseburgers we'd been dreaming of would have to wait when we get hit by some crazy weather.
We also celebrate Sierra's 4th birthday, and ohhhh my goodness there is a lot of cuteness to unpack in this one 🥹 Where has the time gone?! Can't believe what a kind, intelligent, resilient, funny, and sweet little human she is becoming, and we are so stinking proud of her every single day. We celebrate her birthday with some whale watching (a little too close for comfort for Kazza at one point even 😂 ) and a beach day & cake with friends. I can't wait to see where in the world we will celebrate her 5th birthday!

I am so happy for you for getting a long term stay visa in French Polynesia! If you ever want to move to Sweden this may be the route to use for "family reunification under EU rules" for moving direct from another EU country. It bypasses the national rules which are insane in Sweden. You can apply under "sufficent funds" as your means and if they challenge you on any of this use the EU commission's "Solvit" service to fight for your rights under EU right to freedom of movement. Although if I had the chance to do it all again I would just live permanently in French Polynesia and stay away from the grey and dark north!

There is also an EU family reunification rule of a right to reunification with an EU child. Denmark just lost this battle in EU court! This may be a direct route but is only valid until they are 18. You would need to research if this type visa precludes you from a right to permanent residence status in Sweden?

I cannot thank you enough for ALL the places you've taken me over the years. But, this trip to French Poly is among the very best, mostly because I get to see it through the eyes of Sierra. It makes my heart sing to see Nugs bringing joy to her parents. The reactions to playgrounds, the high overview hike, the birthday whale's greetings, and the birthday party! Man! The Delos crew sure makes me happy!

Can’t believe it has already been 4 years, and the aging stars of Delos have certainly been upstaged by a shining new star. Having had kids, I always knew I would continue watching, but you never how kids will change your life. Sierra is certainly, like her parents always up for adventure, and when she isn’t she catches a ride on dad. She is full of shenanigans, and a joyful little party animal. A hart felt thanks for continuing to share the resiliency of both parents and children with the world. For me Delos has always been special, Sierra brings magic to the boat, and to my life for 20 minutes each week. Happy birthday wishes to my favorite little mariner.🎉🎉🎉
